Lol... at least they tried, and they admitted that it the consoles was the lead platform at some point

In reading it the article seems to state that they started with PC as the primary programming platform, which left the console platforms behind in development, so they pushed those to the lead in order to finish them on schedule. I don't read it as saying the game was designed for the consoles, then ported to PC, but maybe I read it wrong.

hmm - so let's all stretch our thinking caps around the massive domes we're all sporting now.....if DICE had to stop focusing on PC in order to get the consoles out the door at the same time wouldn't it stand to reason that some of the very "PC-centric" functions that we were expecting got "back-burnered"?

It's not hard to imagine.

WTH do the consolers need Comma Rose for? They don't - scrap it (or in this case ham string it)
WTH do the consolers need VOIP for? They don't - they get that via XBL or PSN.
WTH do the consolers need alternate input methods for? They don't - only have a max of 8-9 buttons on the controllers.
Et cetera, Et Cetera

That's the point. Since 2006 we've been the "Back of the Bus" for EA/DICE and you all know it.
