Thread: TeamSpeak newb question...

So, I've never used Teamspeak before. How does it work for BF3?

Download TS3 here.

Download TS3, find our connection info in the sticky. Plug that in...click connect and you are in our TS. Just double click Battlefield 3 channel. Just join the game normally and it will automatically put you in the right squad.

Don't forget to change your settings to Push to Talk and set your key for PTT.

oh yeah, I'm sorry, I should have expanded my question
I understand how to connect to your teamspeak server and install it and what not... but my question is how does it work?
is there a button I have to hit to start talking or is it always on?
Also, does it know what team or squad you've joined in game or is it just everyone involved?

You set PTT in the TeamSpeak App?

yes. ptt is in settings

Once you connection there an option tab on the toolbar.

Click that, then click the capture tab. Select Push to talk and then set the hot key to activate PTT. Whenever you press and hold that button it will allow you to speak to your team mates.

Once you want to join double click the Battlefield 3 channel. From there just load up BF3 on TPG as normal.

Our TS3 plug in will automatically put you in the correct team and squad.

Also just to let you know I'm quite far away from a PC, so I'm telling you this from memory so the actual options to set PTT maybe a little different from what I told you.

anyone have a recommendation for a PTT button in this game? I don't remember what keys are already bound...
I know V is and C is...and X... is T bound in BF3 to anything?
