Planetside 2

The way that I see Planetside 2, it's a campaign warfare simulator. You're not always going to be in the main fight. Sometimes, it's more beneficial to your faction to roll around and quickly take lightly defended outposts IN SUPPORT of the main offensives. Games like Battlefield 2 simulate just one main offensive at a time, whereas Planetside 2 features minor offensives.

Personally, I like to leave the big fights to the blue heads, as a TPG squad can be highly efficient at quickly taking outposts that provide some security and options for everyone else.

Basically, I'm loving Planetside 2. At times it plays like PR where all you're doing is traveling or planning out your next move, analyzing different areas of the map to see where a thrust would be most effective. Other times, it plays almost exactly like Battlefield 2, running around a zone, taking satellite bases and coordinating an assault on a main base.

And if you're ever stuck in the middle of nowhere, or trapped inside a barracks, you can always pull up the map and hit "Redeploy" and deploy at a nearby base or at your warp gate.

Taking surrounding bases is important to taking the bigger bases because the more surrounding territory your faction controls, the quicker the point is captured. This is all displayed on the pie chart you get when at a point to capture it, the more % you see of your side, the faster the cap will go.

Some folks mistake the pie chart as how many of each faction is in the hex, this isn't how it is.

Well I don't know, I've played nearly every day since the last big update (wednesday I think) or it may be as you say a glitch in the program but the download was real and installed consequently... ??

I had not played since the weekend before. I got a 2 gig update Saturday.

I had a great time even if we DID get steam rolled a few times. Steam rolling them back afterwords was fun tho.

I was actually in charge of a platoon on Esamir when we took it on Saturday night. Was my first time, was fun.

I'm in the outfit Bonkers on Mattherson TR for any of the TR holdouts we have on there.

Frag, noobie, and me were part of a great push that took the crown from NC. Was a ton of fun taking the crown.
