Stephen, DayZ is a Zombie Survival Horror game in a Sandbox world with emphasis on Survival. There are no objectives besides staying alive. How you stay alive is entirely your decision, whether you decide to live off the land and not bother with towns, or whether you go into towns to loot for food, weapons, and other supplies, or whether you just want to kill people and take all their stuff. There's many more ways to play the game then that, but those are the common ones.

Hello i'm a new player to DayZ this is a really fun game from the looks of it and just had my first real experience of running and dieing but i was watching your youtube channel for day z before deciding to purchase arma 2 day z. It really inspired me to join you guys and hope to play with a nice community of players.

Welcome to TPG, and the forums. As Krom said, feel free to stop in TS and hook up with us, we have a very diverse group of DayZ players, im sure you will find one or more to roll with that fit your game style whether it be ninja like forest dweller or in your face player killer. Aside from that, we TGP'rs tend to look out for our own regardless of play style. Heroes or Bandits we got each others backs and sometimes roll together as a group..... those nights are interesting to say the least!

Theres a couple. I like the Norway servers set for veteran. Stable as a rock, but a little too high ping for PvP, great for looting though.

Ya we usually hit up non-US servers and unpopulated servers when we loot.

When we look for a good time, on the other hand, we hit up the most rockin server where we can all get in. That is usually a US server.

I haven't lived long enough to know this but does your character transfer from server to server? like you can have all your gear stay with you when changing to a different server?

If all things work ok, yes, that's the idea. Loot and run long distances on low-population servers. Hit higher-pop servers for player-vs-player action. Be wary of servers with 25+ players; the higher the pop, the likelier a hacker will hit it.

Hmm it seems like some posts are either getting deleted or "lost" because i found the answer to this question when i joined up with a few of the members here. Anyways I am wondering if anyone has an extra pistol they would like to trade. I have food, a 20 liter gas can, an extra water bottle, or possibly some extra ammo. If anyone is interested in trading me i'd be glad to give them w/e i've got for one.
