    ARMA II Scrimmage

Anyone interested in a scrimmage using regular ARMA II on the Chenarus map. We can practice sqaud movements and assaults without loosing our tasty beans in DayZ. We have kind of been getting our backsides handed to us lately when we encounter enemy players. Just looking for a way to sharpen our skills especially with the large groups we have been running with.

Sure. Of course, if you're going player hunting in Dayz, you need to expect you're going to die and lose everything on you, anything else is fantasy.

Yes I know that you can't expect to not die. I have died more than most. But the thing is we have been getting owned by other groups when we start moving in large numbers.

This way at least we can kill each other without losing everything in a practice match.

    Re: ARMA II Scrimmage

    my thoughts....
I think maintaining a squad limit would be most beneficial followed by the understanding of where, how, and when to stop. Many would agree that a 4-5 player group is preferred but that does not mean that the other 3-6 players have to go it on their own. You split to two teams and move in unison to points/ locations maintaining a degree of space. We have done this a few times before and it works very well providing coverage for both groups. If you are wary of a location come up with a plan to maneuver thru it and cover/ check areas. For instance if you are moving as a group of 4 to the top of Khelm split to two groups with each group approaching from a different angle but maintaining known location or line of sight.

From my experiences the ambushes come when all are stopped waiting for another player or scoping an area and more often than not everyone is within a 15-20 meter area. Spread it out and everyone take an angle. If you can't see 100+ meters out then you should relocate to obtain a better view of your designated area.

Scrimming sounds fun but I think working on how we move and cover would be beneficial as well. A while back pint posted topics on squad formations and engagement tactics which were good so if you haven't read them yet spend a few minutes to.

**edit - here is the link to Pint's "Ranger manual". I thought it had more to it but it is a good start. http://www.teamplayergaming.com/arma...er-manual.html
