Battle of Stary (4 Oct) After Action Report?

So what happened last night in the "Battle of Stary"?

Left after Rooster had popped the first guy so close he got the open backpack text. With an AS50 no less, lol. You all were gearing up and headed to the action area.

Sorry I missed it, but am paying the price even now considering how "early" I logged out. 0500 EDT comes much too early nowadays.

Krom, Lefty, Hub, Scion and myself topped off our gear and made an assault on Stary from the south. I ran a click or so ahead as forward recon and just as i got into position, a Bus with 3 FBI guys in it starts exiting Stary to the south east through the field right in front of me. I had my AS50 out but was Zeroed at 500m, i was expecting to harass them from distance, not right in front of me. Anyway, i couldn't pass it up so i unloaded into the bus with the AS50 at about 200m. The 3 guys jumped out and started running around the bus in circles trying to figure out where the shots came from. Dropped 2 of them as they ran back to town. The third guy was a little more sneaky and a decent shot too. He found my location and peppered me pretty good. Probably got my blood down to 3K before i was able to bandage. I could only do that because Scion was hammering him with FN FAL rounds as he tried to cross the field to my position.

He ended up running to a tree line to his north, then flanking towards Novy. Unfortunately he managed to take out Me, Scion and Hub in doing so. BUT Krom zeroed in on him and split his melon. From that point on im a little vague, but i believe there was one more running around harassing Lefty and Krom.

Bottom line is it was a good gun battle, but im disappointed we didnt get them all in short order. I lost control mid battle when i accidentally switched to binocs, then over reacted and switched to pistol, then rifle, then back to Binocs..... must have wasted a full minute where i could have killed him. But i was shaking so bad and the adrenaline was pumping to the point my head was spinning. I need to learn to keep cool in battle i guess.

Rooster was an excellent over watch and Ace in the Hole as well. His Intel allowed us to get into a pretty good, no make that great position to begin our assault, and their greed for the Bus delivered them right to us.

PS: There was a second battle after we respawned... We lost Rooster in that one, and ONLY because it was so late we retreated. Otherwise we had them pinned pretty good even if it was on high ground, Krom would have been able to get some elevation on them from the south. But we scooted, and Scion stealthily snuck up the hill to re-acquire the UAZ i found just outside of Kamyshovo just after i spawned in. The was at MISTA on the hill with the deer stand.

Rooster and I are still playing (its 8:18am).. we are currently repairing the UAZ in Stary by the tents.

Just need one more wheel and we'll have 2 UAZs. There is a third UAZ right outside one of those far Western towns. It's on the southside of town right off the main road.

Annnnd we just logged off (9:45AM CST)... that was a good 14 hours of DayZ.

Finally got a ride though, wooooo!

Krom logged on just now and saw we were still on and couldn't believe it. lol

I made a run to Fabrik and got 2 fuel tank, glass, scrap metal, and a jerry but no tire. I out one of the fuel tanks in the tent at 108-078 and glass on the atv in the general area. The truck in MSTA is still there and has a full tank of gas but needs a wheel (maybe 2) and a fuel tank.

UN UAZ is at 122 x 092. Everything is a slight greenish yellow. Low on Fuel. There's a gas station at Orvolvets to the north, there's 2 AS50's in the back and 2 empty Jerry's.

I'll grab ATV (if it's still where I parked it in the NE Airfield area) and do a run when it gets light enough. Need to gas up first; three empty jerry cans onboard. That puppy is quite the gas hog, lol.

Edited: Are there two trucks in the MSTA - Kam - Orl area? UN UAZ and ?
