Yes and you will have to reserve your character name in order to keep it.

Unfortunately no. All your certs get wiped as well. But if you bought the Alpha Squad, you get to reserve your name.

Lol, Sov. Yes, bought. As in, spend money. On a F2P game. Why would I do that? Because I actually want to support this game. Devs gotta make money to keep the servers running somehow, as well as to make a living.

I actually feel like I'm getting my money's worth with this vs EA's crap.

I can't help but feel that in regards to the account-wide unlocks, SOE is in desperation mode right now. Even with the last major update and server merges, server populations appear to be at an all-time low. It's sad to see a game with as much potential as PlanetSide 2 become a sinking ship fewer than six months after release.

I think the days of the MMO that lasts for years is about over. There's so many and so wide of a genre selection that the people interested are spread too thin.

Krakkens and shit. stop tempting them.

I play PS2 and I enjoy it in waves. Other games like BF4 have my attention at the moment. They try to add events and content to PS2 but in the end its really just the same repetitive motions over and over. The addition of global events was a nice change of pace because it forced everyone to work together to a common large scale goal, but with the server population decline those events are rarely ever won, they are simply stalemates with all sides splitting a piece of the rewards.

PS2 is still my favorite game currently. Even the stalemates are fun battles of 48+ vs 48+ sometimes 100+ vs 100+

I find PS 2 the have a lot less repetitiveness than any other FPS. While a tower is a tower the outside varies quite a bit, enough to change the over all fight from area to area. There is enough terrain to make the options far out way the # of maps any other game has.
