Taviana is a 1GB download so it must be good right? Pulling it down and going to give it a spin so I can at least be a little less directionally challenged then everyone else if we start playing it.

I'm going to try this out tonight. Oh, and if you haven't tried to use play with six launcher in awhile like myself, you will be pleasantly surprized at how many DayZ mods they now support. They have all of them that I know of plus at least 3 that I didn't even know existed. It's atleast worth an update if you already have playwithsix downloaded.

Played on Taviana for a bit and managed to run across more players than I thought I would on a 8 man server. First guy I came across I had just spawned and had nothing but 1 clip of makarov rounds and an axe(axe equipped) while hitting a small town with a few low value residential buildings. I was slow walking down a street when Zeds start to agro a block away. At first I thought they were from me but they take off in the other direction so I just stop along a fence and wait to see what happens. About 20 seconds later a player carrying a shot gun appears across the street which is lined with chain link fence so he and I are separated. I look at him, he looks at me, I do the lean left & right, and he tries to shoot me with shotty at 30 meters or so away, twice. He misses both times so casually keep slow walking to avoid agro and the poor sap keeps trying to shoot me. I leave the small town and about 5 minutes later hit a deer stand managing to grab and Enfield so now I can at least inflict some damage. Another 10-15 minutes I come across a large walled castle which I proceed to enter and loot. While at the top of the Castle I decide to take in the scenery and what do I see... another player coming to the castle. I make my way to the bottom and leave without either of us running into one another.

So I leave the castle heading in the same direction that I was running when I came up on it (away from the first town) and 5-10 minutes later come across another town but larger and with apartments. At first there were no Zeds (had binocs at this point) so I proceed in. No sooner do I reach the first street a player appears across the street from around a building with a winchester or shotty. Now this wasn't the same guy I came across the first time because the clothing was different so I do the whole leaning thing and runs off backwards. As soon as i start to move to go into the apartment BAM... I take a single round to the head from a distance sniper shot.

As big as that map is I was really surprised to come across 3 players in a matter of 30 minutes. I couldn't tell you which island I was on but I guess they have all fresh spawns start there and in the same general area. It is definitely a vehicle map.
