How the hell do I install DayZ

I tried installing DayZ a long time ago and i could not get into the same server as the rest of the people. I believe it may have been just an unlucky timing thing right after a patch or something. But I want to install DayZ today and get on the TPG server. I have the ArmA games installing right now, so how do i go from that to playing DayZ. And what is the current version I am aiming for to get on TPG server.

Is there anything special I need to do before getting to the TPG server aside from installing?

Install both ARMA games, and run both once.

Download Day Z Commander

Goto update / install and install Arma beta and Day Z

Search TeamPlayerGaming

Play

How did you buy DayZ? Steam, disc, gamestop? I had problems with gamestop.

i got it on steam. and yea sticky this crap. i looked through all the stickys and didnt find anything useful.

Some of us are using SixLauncher or play with Six,but i agree the DayZ Commander is your friend if you just start playing.

Somehow i can't join TPG server thrue DayZ Commander,and if you have the same problem you should click on random server who runs DayZ ,disconect and search the server thru Remote button in ArmA II.Server IP and port number should match the server Ip.

Yeah, Playwithsix has come along way. I would say it's just as good as Commander now, but maybe not as user friendly until you get used to it.
