Lost tents after sever reset

Ok I'm understanding now. I have to be more patient. The funny thing about all this now is that I'm thinking to myself you know I probably won't enjoy playing on the server when it is jam packed and we have to deal with hackers and griefers 24/7. We are still figuring out everything with running the server and in that time we will get new players and we will show them what we are offering, in a sense. (TeamPlayerGaming woot woot) <----That's what we are offering fyi. What we stand for: pure teamwork and fairplay. So the right players we want will stay and the ones that just want to grief will go somewhere else. I know there are a few more details to it then that, but that's essential what we want/are doing.

Though there is nothing wrong with getting some help from others and from my point of view I have not seen that.

Like I told dredd in a PM. There is no way to get actual hands on help without giving people the keys to all things TPG which obviously can't happen.

The help we need is research and links.

I could have a new PR server up and running in about 20minutes. DayZ is something different. It took two or three days just to change the time and it ended up being a semi-colon in the wrong place.

Nothing is easy in the configuration of this game.

That said, lets not fight about it. We will get it right. Just work with us while we do and supply us with info if you can.

I had a blast last night!

The tent loss was not due to a lack of cautiousness. We ran a script that respawned vehicles. When we did tents got removed. No idea why.

We did get the vehicles to respawn which should have respawned on their own.

Maybe this second server will be easier.

I think I know why.. the clean up function we ran (the non OOB one) cleans up tents I think. We just need to stay away from that one.

(The function we need to stay away from says stuff about hedgetraps, dummys, tents, etc..)

It was me. I knocked all those tents down with a uril when it respawned. I did it.

Glad to hear it Blondie. Believe me, we spent collectively about 30+ hours on the server this week working on getting up a second instance that will more suit our needs, its just not there yet. What we have now is something thats a little more vanilla, but for the most part it is stable, so we might as well stick to that for now until we get something a little easier to control.

The second instance is right around the corner and along with that we are hopefully going to be able to port everyone's pack's a tents/vehicles over. Its just not there yet. Please just bear with us.

Along with that, once we have solid framework in place that is easy to manage, its going to be 100x easier to create multiple instances with different variables or (dare I say) different maps.

I lost tents too, got hacked, spent hours fixing a chopper only to see it go down in a server crash, get chains all the time etc... That said, sure is nice to play on a tpg server with my buds which btw, is provided by the people above. Thank You.
If I were to bitch about anything, it would be the tpg regs who haven't played this game and worse yet, the tpg regs still playing on other dayz servers...

I second this! Basically we are priming the server.

For example saying, I'll play BF3 somewhere else till TPG server gets going. Instead of helping prime it.

Can we have a sticky to post bugs or possible bugs? I've never played on a server the way our server resets and you join. With the timeout timer and all. Also I can recount 3 random server crashes yesterday. Two of them seem relates to joining the server.
