If it turned out to be something more along the lines of the zombie infection and they made it so you would get infected if you were scratched and bitten AND they improved the zombie movements so it wasn't as spastic and glitchy than I could be ok with it...
Like you said, it would depend how heavily it was integrated into the game. With how rare anti-biotics are now, it'd be easier to just kill yourself and spawn again healthy

Rocket has always said he wanted to make a "true" survival game. Looks like that is what we are going to get. I'm interested how the player interaction is going to be. There are going to be the people who just ignore the survival side of the game and look to kill players no matter what Rocket tries to implement.
There will be people actually trying to survive with the obstacles they run in to(infection, disease, cold, etc.) and then there will be the players who just ignore all of that and look to kill other players. In DayZ it's not hard to survive without other player contact, thus we see many players wanting PvP only. I'm hoping its a good balance between HAVING to survive and protecting yourself/killing out of necessity rather then killing just because.Last edited by Mr_Blonde_OPS; 01-25-13 at 05:11 PM.

Same here Blonde. You know i gravitate to the survival end of the spectrum and only PvP when i have to. But even i can go all out some nights and risk it all for PvP action knowing i can regear in a day or two. I would love to see a bit more incentive to NOT PvP.... i don't mean eliminate it, i mean present more scenarios where its in your best interest to avoid killing for the sake of killing.

I'm hoping with more survival aspects it will force people into high traffic zones more often. With more survival conditions to maintain, PvP will become part of surviving and not just a human hunting trip for guys that already have all the gear they need.

Additionally, a scoring system based on successful survival - not simply zombie kills.
Points for distance traveled, items found, combats won, and zombies killed. Maybe even bonus skins or abilities for successful survival. A veteran of the apocalypse should have some jump on a fresh spawn. This is where the incentive to survive at all costs arises.
