Re: TPG and DayZ
If your goal is to get more people on the server then in-game VOIP ain’t going to do it. Its a white list server the very nature of the server is that there will be less people on it.
Voip is pointless if you ask me. If i wanted to listen to a bunch of strangers talk about the game they were playing I would download the FREE team-speak client and log on the the provided server. Personally I prefer the loan wolf feel... and kinda hate people.
People come to this server to escape hackers on the normal servers. That’s pretty much it. So short of advertising that we are hacker free
(which might not be true....) you aren’t going to greatly increase the server population by changing maps and whatnot.
If your going for a change in atmosphere just for us that play on TPG. Changes in maps once a month or so (ending in a massive event o
death) could be cool.
One thing is for sure... you change anything at all. people are going to bitch about it... but will probably play here (again becuase of hackers) regardless so you should do what you think is best for the group.

Re: TPG and DayZ
If BF2 didn't have voip I wouldn't be here.
Voip allows teamplayers to work together. TPG is mainly about team play, we do have some lone wolves, but as a rule of thumb comms are key. I hated BF3's lack of voip and attribute the servers up and downs directly to the lack of voip. I WILL NOT buy BF4 unless I hear proven play with voip. Day Z has it and when it's fixed we will have a blast.
Besides the number of times I kill people rather than just rob them is sad - I'd much prefer to hold up players and steal their weapons... "Hey there buddy... Yeah you.... With the AK in the bush..."SpecOpsScott liked this post

Funny how not too long ago we wouldn't host a game if it didn't have good in game voip, and now we actually have people saying to turn it off in a game that offers it. SMH.

I wasn't going to say anything, because Hub made it clear to all you assholes that the conversation was over, but all I will say is that I'm a killer. I have no remorse killing fresh spawns or lying to my friends then shooting them in the head. I played on another server for 45 minutes the other day to check out the map Thirsk and was about to kill some freshy with a winchester but he said over VoiP, "I don't want to die". Long story short, we ended up giving each other blood bags and going our separate ways.
I would have killed that player if he had not voiced to me he didn't want to die. Yes, I was taking a chance that he might pop me as soon as I turned my back, but that is the point you always have to keep your guard up. Watch how FrankieonPC1080p does it. Always gives the player a chance and if they don't listen, he then shoots them. VoiP is a game changer.

Re: TPG and DayZ
Personally I think we should be adding in non DayZ event days into the mix. If any of you have seen the Shacktac videos where they are able to attract hundreds of teamplayers on a regular basis with a chain of command and organized missions, THAT is what I think TPG should be looking to do. Perhaps start small with 1 evening every week or two being an Insurgency map, and then move up into bigger organized PvP events(hostage rescue, town attack/defense, etc.). That way we won't get anyone burned out on priming it and will be able to have population carry over between the DayZ crowd and non DayZ crowd.
We've already seen that everyone loved the organized events like the defense of Elektro, let's at least try having some more in a situation that is conductive to organization(which DayZ is definitely not).SmokenScion liked this post
