My Position
From my previous posts I have made my point of how the community supports the server very clear. It has however at this point become a pointless position as of late considering the servers progress. I obviously believe differently from the majority of the community and i must face that fact. I don't say this to change anyone's mind or rouse an argument but I believe that it takes a certain amount of dedication to a DayZ server than it does with other games. Also a decision was made to open up an ArmA 3 server which I believe was not the wrong decision but ill timed. Needless to say support for the Dayz server has been in short supply the past week and therefore I have come to the conclusion that for all my good intentions and time put in it didn't matter.
I really don't know how to finish this post but needless to say I am going to rethink my role here and I think my activity as well.

Re: My Position
I never said it was lack of dedication on your part so no need to get irritated. I have put in just about all the input I can when it comes to the server. So what else am I supposed to do now? Keep playing in a low to no pop server? I understand that it's hard to hear that especially from someone like me but sometimes things need to be said. I usually am one to say those things. It doesn't make me a popular guy by any means but it is non the less a necessary evil. I am just not impressed with community support for the server but don't get me wrong admin support has been great.

Re: My Position
Source,
What support from the community are you thinking should be present.
There is no mandate to play certain games. There never has been. If a large portion of the community likes the game they play it. If not, then not. Look at DoDS. Low pop but still here being enjoyed. Same with TF2 lately and CSS.
Other new(er) games have come out and drawn people's attention. That's not a failing of the community or your fellow players or you. It's just a simple progression from game to game. Some take longer than others to shift.
With that said, and I mean no offense, your post here has some of the tone of a martyr or victim or "woe is me". I don't understand that mentality. At all. I think it is the wrong tack to take tbh. There is nothing pointing to a closure of the DayZ server yet. It costs nothing to operate the server other than support time (not to minimize the importance that for those admins reading). If that is the only thing you want to play then I understand. It you only want to play on full(er) servers then, that too, I understand. However, to lay the low population at the feet of "the community" is if they have shirked some responsibility is misplaced at best. To do so with the implied "I'm being given no choice but to leave" is somewhat of an unnecessary guilt trip (i could be wrong but it reads that way to me).
No one is saying, asking or implying you leave. In fact I think you add to the community through your personality and differing opinions. Those are good things.
If in the end you feel moving on is the only option left then I'll wish you the best and hope that we stay in touch. Hopefully this is not your swan song though.

Re: My Position
You logic is sound. You are a bit annoying in that way :P but yes it was meant to sound that way I guess but no I don't think it is the wrong way to approach it. I can't help but think that so many people wouldn't have moved on if the server had been more active. It's like a paradox in that aspect. Look I will be defeated here I know it but it won't stop me from being vocal about it. It is just how I am feeling at the moment. I don't mean to be rude to anyone. I wasn't aware I couldn't express how I feel here. I know there isn't any mandate for community members to play the games we host and only them but it would be nice in my opinion if we could get that kind of attitude. I like what DoDS does with their messages over steam and stuff. That was the same attitude we had when BF3 was struggling as well. We need to be more like that when it comes to our DayZ server I think.

If you have ideas to grow the server population then let's hear them. I don't even play, but I have advertised the server on the DayZ forums and Reddit. I have also helped to figure out how we can do "events", and give prizes/loot. If you think Steam announcements is a way then make announcements to the group we already have setup.

Re: My Position
Couple points
1. if you are "defeated" then it's because you have given up. No one is fighting you. So no one is defeating you. That's you.
2. I just said your opinion is good here. You are absolutely allowed to speak how you feel or what you're thinking. Just be prepared to have others comment on your opinion (some might argue, some might simply try and offer a different "lense" to look at the problem through. But NEVER assume that you aren't allowed to speak your mind. I'll argue that point until the forum collapses.
3. If the Steam group works so well for DoDS (and it does) and BF3 and others (and it has) then get a DayZ steam group going and work the hell out of it. There's nothing stopping you. But you.

Re: My Position
I would like to see us get a whole slew of admins, change to Chenarus, and disable the whitelist for at least a week to see what kind of population we would see.
