Re: DayZ StandAlone Released on Steam
Lets be honest. The game is alpher and has more bugs than the motel I stayed in last weekend.
1 Infected? Have been from cherno to nwaf and saw maybe a dozen of them. Mostly glitched standing still. Plus running through walls.
2 Random dieing well going unconscious permanently.
Expect to have issues and have fun.

THIS^^^^
This was My BIGGEST Complaint from the MOD. Zeds Running through walls.
I Will not Buy it Till that is Fixed.
It's not hard really. How many games have you Ever played where the AI bots walk through walls.
........This was the First. Not even in Regular Arma do Bots walk through walls.

See I could have understood if there weren't all these warnings everywhere, but it was made crystal clear that the game is no where near complete. If I had bought the game and was not told of it's state, I would be furious, but I respect that the Developers made it very clear to the people buying the game that they do it at their own risk and enjoyment. So why complain?
You can complain and bitch all you want. Same goes for anyone else. Just go create your own thread so I don't have to read it. I already know there are going to be problems, I don't need to know how pissed you are about them.

Re: DayZ StandAlone Released on Steam
I didn't care for DayZ to begin with, and don't plan to get this standalone... And don't know why it's still alpha with another year to go before it even hits beta...
BUT... At least they are up front about it and tell everyone outright that there are problems. It's an alpha. It's GOING to have game-breaking bugs in it. That's worthy of a little respect. And I agree. If you just want to bash it... start another thread. Let those that bought it and want to discuss it do their thing in peace.

Re: DayZ StandAlone Released on Steam
Its an ultra small indi dev team with an even smaller budget.... it's amazing that they've accomplished what they have so far.
I personally always liked wasteland better than Dayz, but there was never a doubt in my mind that I'd get this game esp considering all the fun I had back in the early days of dayz without ever playing a dime.
What they've done with the engine is pretty amazing considering where it started. It looks more like arma 3 than arma 2 and I understand that while an arma 2 core is far from perfect, it's imperfections are perhaps more known to them than arma 3, which is still a work in progress. It make sense not try to develop on top of a moving target.
As for the "bugs" it actually seems much better than when I first started playing dayz about a year ago. I havent randomly been killed by a door or had a step or tree break my legs. They've also added a TON of locations to the map.
From what I've heard the server issues also have something to do with steam authentication problems, so it's not all Rocket's fault.

Re: DayZ StandAlone Released on Steam
I bought the game today and messed around for about an hour this evening. I am glad that there is progress being made with the game and intend to stick with it. Looking forward to meeting up with some of you guys and hope that Maximus doesn't murder me again like he did last year.
How do you guys meet up to play, or do you?Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon
