With the Wii U coming, what will the legacy of the Nintendo Wii be for you? I, for one, was disappointed with the amount of games that got the "Nintendo Seal of Approval". The amount of shitty games released was just horrible...on the other hand, we saw a ton of amazing first party games. Some of the best of all times with two amazing zelda titles, a handful of mario titles, two decent metroid titles, and some other to boot! Along with that, Nintendo showed they knew more than us by selling more systems than ever plus forcing the competition to make the Move and Kinect. What do you think?

Re: Legacy of the Nintendo Wii
the wii opened a lot of doors to casual gaming and released very few "core" games. Similar to the NES, the wii was flooded with games that nobody really gave a crap about. However the few that were good to play were GGGOOOODDDDD to play.
By catering to casual gamers (2 year olds - 82 year olds) they brought a lot of people into gaming that would have otherwise ignored it. If my mom could pick up a controller and figure out how to play a game then they definitely made it easy.
over the years they have been and probably will be straying towards the casual side more since it has been proven to make them significantly more money since they started losing core to xbox, ps3, and to an extent PC.

Our opinions of "good" Wii games must differ greatly. The first Zelda sucked balls. It was a horrible addition to the series. The second, I'm still undecided on as I haven't finished it yet but I believe I'm close. It is missing a few elements that make it a classic Zelda so far though. I'm all for trying new things, but there are certain elements that really make a game that I don't think they should remove.
The Mario titles were disappointing to say the least. Both Metriods were decent, but they could have been done a lot better.
For me, what I'll actually remember most is something the system came - Wii Sports. I probably spent more hours playing that and Wii Sports Resort when it came out than I did any other game out there for the Wii. Everything else was pretty disappointing.
