Re: PS4 at E3
Sorry Duddy the ps4 will not be backward compatible, they went with a whole new architecture and this will prevent them from being able to play ps3 games and below (the disc itself). I think the "work around" Sony is doing for this is being able to stream ps3 titles online. I think they mentions this a little in the E3 session

Yeah, they didn't say which ones or how many, but they said you could steam the greatest hits from ps3.
They are charging $5 now for PlayStation network, but you get 3 free ps4 games right off the bat, and access to basically everything from the streaming service to the social networking. Yeah, it sucks that they charge now, but I don't mind since they undercut the Xbox one by $100 and you get 3 free games.
Microsoft will need to completely change my mind if I'm going to get an Xbox, Sony has me sold on the ps4

Re: PS4 at E3
Microsoft is really going to have to have an amazing presentation to really change my mind. Of the exclusives for it I've seen so far, really the only one I was kind of interested in was Halo. And not even that was that good, because the Trailer was kind of dumb. And as for the PSN+ being required now, I'll gladly pay it if it's $5, plus three free games.

Looking like ps4 for me too. MS lost me with the whole you Really don't own the things you've paid us for.
Really hoping that a good doctrine of first sales case happens with them as chief defendant.

To be fair.
Microsoft clarifies policies on game licensing, privacy, and DRM for Xbox One - NBC News.com
"Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends," Microsoft said. "There are no fees charged as part of these transfers."
Xbox One does not require a connection to play offline. As of now, you can play off line for 24 hours.

Re: PS4 at E3
I guess I don't really get the uproar over authentication of ownership. I'm guessing most people complaining about having to connect every 24 hours, are connected the entire time they are using the Xbox anyways.
The only time I wouldn't be connected, is if I were play a movie from disk. Which doesn't require a 24 hour authentication.

Re: PS4 at E3
But doesn't that mean you have to be connected online still for single player game? I didn't say you had to be connected 24/7 but a connection to online is require to play single player game unless you are beating a game in 24 hours.
yea jakt, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I don't really have a problem with what Microsoft listed (except for the price of the console) out since none would affect me but looking at the general public, knew that none of points they made would go well with people.
