    Real Easy 3 Ring Fix

I'm working on putting a detailed post together on how to fix this rather retarded problem. But for now if your interested just PM me. It'll cost you about 20 bucks if that and it'll work forever. And im not talking about any stupid oven tricks or other retarded suggestions. This is based of simple hardware flaws. Real easy to do. Id say it would take 3 hours max (mainly having to deal with cleaning).

Lol no no, I'm offering a solution to fix your Xbox 360 3 Red lights of death problem. It'll only cost you about 20 dollars to fix yourself.

Where you open it up, voiding any possible chance that MS will work on it, possibly getting yourself flagged as having modified your 360, take everything apart and applying new thermal paste?

Or are you suggesting your charging 20 dollars for a something new and secret that you cant find splashed all over the internet?

If you are the over the line hardcore mod'r for the consoles it would be ok I guess......

I however mod the pc and have no real interest in opening my 360. Sending it back through microsoft is the best option at the moment for the red ring errors.

The turn around time is like 1 week which is not too bad.

Yes I should of been more clear, I've been up for quite a while. Its a combination of several fixes that people have figured out. But the problem with most online articles, none of them are very clear or strait forward. The article I'm writing has very detailed pictures and well explained steps. As well as part lists for at least 5 different hardware stores. If your xbox is under warranty I wouldn't necessarily recommend opening it up. Sure you can send it in to Microsoft wait 4 months, but then you might just run into the same problem down the road. I have had many friends that have sent in their xboxes countless times. Opening your xbox will void your warrant because the decal tears in most cases. It will not flag you for modifying your xbox however. There is no firmware changes or hardware changes other than the way the heat sinks are secured to the mother board. There is no way your xbox could be "banned". And yes it does include adding new thermal paste, as any real PC gamer would know, a more efficient heat transfer between your GPU/CPU and your heat sinks solves over heating and performance issues.

Sure you could get away with finding a solution online somewhere else. I am just simply offering the easiest way to fix this problem to people associated with this community. It gets rather tedious to have to go around the web looking for all the best fixes.

I solved my RR problem by buying a PS3 instead. No problems, ever again.

I myself havn't seen a turn around that quickly but that doesn't rule out that possibility. This is even for people that want to make their 360s run a little cooler as well as apply less stress on the machine. Some find it fun to see how things were built and work, I know I enjoyed it. And if you have a new xbox you won't have to even worry about it as this issue was finally resolved by microsoft in their latest release. So generally this applies to people who's xboxs are well beyond their factory warranty.

Haha well played sir. I have yet to invest in a PS3. I love some of its features and i am considering getting one now with the price decrease. Although the reason I even went through the trouble to fix mine in the first place is I used it a lot for file streaming. PS3 does not support .AVI which is the format I use most. And netflix streaming is a pretty cool feature although im sure its probably available on the PS3 by now.
