Sorry about that intro, I guess I've been playing this DLC a bit to much. Remember in my BL2 review, when I said Handsome Jack is the best character? Well I was wrong. That honor belongs to Mister Torgue. He is, by far, the funniest thing to happen to BL since Handsome Jack. As you can tell from the picture of him below, he is BL's rendition of Macho Man Randy Savage. And if that doesn't get you excited, then there's no hope left.

The story starts off by telling you another Vault has been found in the Badass Crater of Badassitude. Once you arrive, you're greeted over ECHO by Mister Torgue. Mister Torgue is the creator and owner of the Torgue Corporation that makes all those badass explosive ammo guns, and, just like the guns they sell, everything about the company is over the top badass.

Like most of Gearbox's Borderlands DLC, this one is full of new things. At first glance it looks to be another Moxxi arena type DLC. However, after the first section of the quests, you go out and explore the outer areas of the Badass Crater. While doing so you save yourself a new sponsor, train with a trainer, and fight you're way to the top of the leader board to become the ultimate badass.

Sounds about right, right? Just as the main game does, this DLC reintroduces you to some familiar faces, like Hammerlock, Scooter, and the always popular Tiny Tina. As awesome as they all are to see again, its Mister Torgue and his quotes that make this DLC so fantastic. He brings along a fun commentator aspect to the game that makes it loads that much more enjoyable.

The DLC also brings in new Torgue vendors for you to buy weapons from. As you could expect, these machines are basically just badass versions of the regular gun vendors. Inside you only find Torgue guns and the occasional custom skin or head. These things can't be bought with money though, you have to find special tokens (by killing people) to pay for these things; which at times can be difficult to come by. And if you couldn't get enough of Mister Torgue, the machines will spout out one of his funny lines as you buy things, look at things, leave, or just stand near it.

One thing you won't have any trouble finding is bosses. This DLC is chock full of badass baddies for you to kill. In fact, that's really the point of the DLC. You go around and kill off, one by one, every person on the kill board that is ahead of you. Slowly but surely making your way to the top of the list to become the biggest badass, while completing side missions along the way.

There are about as many side missions here as you would expect from a Borderlands DLC as well. A range of different types from various people. Some of my most notable ones were finding Echo devices for Moxxi, where she is interviewed by Mister Torgue, walking Tiny Tina's dog, and killing a game reviewer, 'cause Mister Torgue didn't share his opinions (don't get any ideas…).

The hardest thing about this DLC is what to love the most about it. There's tons of awesome new guns, the levels and missions are vast enough to make it worth the money and… well lets face it, you can never go wrong with more Borderlands.

But for me, the most notable thing about it is Mister Torgue and the role he plays in this DLC. As I said earlier, Mister Torgue makes for one of the most fun characters in the BL series. You'll find yourself quoting him long after you've finished the missions, and that makes this DLC worth it.
