Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
I'm actually having a harder time throwing stuff than aiming. Nades are close to the same, but the Fire nades seem so heavy. You got to aim higher for them. I wish they let you do those in the training. It's hard throwing a nade then switching to a molly, just to miss your toss by a bunch.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
Im in the same boat man im so bad at aiming in CS:GO. One important thing i think is aiming less for head shots and maybe aiming more for solid body shots. In CSS it looks like you got about 49% Head shots per kill and i am the same maybe its something to try idk i still suck :/

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
The key to hitting people in GO, is not moving so much, and 2 shot bursts with most guns. What I love about Go is that you can actually see you bullets, so it makes it easier to aim (especially if you screw up and go full auto).
The galil is like the M4 but with shittier damage, if you're a T try using it. Shotguns have been nerfed to hell. Anything from further than about 6 feet away and you won't hit much. SMG's need to be used on burst as well, and if you find yourself going full auto you gotta aim for the body, however the dmg feels nerfed there too.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
After playing the game for a few weeks I have to say that they really screwed up. The mechanics in Source were pretty much perfect. They didn't need to try and make the game more like Call of Duty. It's several steps backwards for CS...
The brilliant thing about Counterstrike has always been the balance between a game like Quake where it's faster action, you run around and jump and shoot constantly and a more realistic game like America's Army (which was boring to play and just too realistic to be enjoyed by the mainstream).
They've taken a few too many steps towards the realism. This game would be great if they just updated the graphics, added a few guns or tweaked the damage of a few existing guns, and left it at that.
I don't know if I can stick it out and continue trying CS:GO or if I'm just done entirely at this point. I loved Source, but I quit it until CS:GO came out and now I'm just thoroughly disappointed. I've tried... I've played this game since CS beta 1 and I've stuck with it from 1.6 -> source, but this is almost too much.
The lack of community "feel" and lack of admins and callers on the CS:GO servers at TPG is the nail in the coffin.
Help. Throw me a lifeline somebody... I *want* to like it.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
I agree with GO sucking. Its still a little early to say that the GO servers lack the regs to back it and make it good, maybe for now but they'll come with time. But like you said, this feels like COD. I played CS 1.6 for the first time at a friends place like 3 or 4 years before Source came out, played it ocassionaly and really liked the feel of the game - it was fast paced and had a good balance between RL and a video game. I bought Source not too long after it came out and it felt like 1.6 with updated graphics (I can't make a great comparison since I didn't play much 1.6). But the change from Source to GO is way too off for me, I think some changes are cool but for the most part they've just re-faced COD with CS. The way the player moves around, the weapon sizes and the way they shoot just doesn't feel true to CS in my opinion.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
CS:GO my impression of it with aiming isnt that people may not actually be aiming bad but the LACK OF CONSISTANCY and REGISTRY with hit box's are annoying. people can say oh 1.6 hit box's are huge and source blah blah blah, but the main thing is cs:go hit box's are way to random I can single burst on someones head and not move but only the 3rd single fire shot registers... I mean come on I know I have good aim 65% hs on source prolly higher if i could look up my 1.6 stats and on cs:go its 45% somehow.. and to me all the pistols in cs:go SUCK!!!! it feels like we are not even aiming anymore they killed the deagle its no where in the least bit same. The M4 is garbage compared to the famas which has a better burst fire and spray. recoil on the ak is trash and the spray is horrid make me want to slit wrists. Still needs lots of work bad... I can say more but I will leave it as this.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
However much people don't like this game, I cannot agree with the comparisons to CoD (hey, my clan is a CoD clan and I have almost as many hours in that series as CS since beta 5.2). Big models and clutter (not that I have a problem with any) do not a CoD game make.
Regarding strats, this game has got SO much better in the last week or so on TPG. There has been more admin presence more calling and less ignorant players all around IME.

Re: How does shooting/aiming work?
Can't agree anymore, Pistol shots are SO random even with the deagle.
Indeed, bursting with famas is more accurate then just switching to burst mode, imo.
Again, the primarys are random just like the pistols, its like 50/50 between the first shot or the 3rd/4th shot to kill.
