Mic not working
I just got GO while it was on sale today and played some matches on the server. However, I discovered that my mic is not working. When I go to audio/voice settings it detects the correct device but when I test the microphone it doesn't pick up anything.
Anyone know what's going on?
EDIT:
Never mind, had the damn thing plugged into a bad port -_-Last edited by Wraith; 11-27-12 at 08:33 PM.

Re: Mic not working
My mic stopped working as well. I tried both ports and a USB adapter to no avail. I guess I need to get a new headset. I had the Razer Characaras (sp) and they were pretty good. Any recommendation on a good headset? I liked the sound on these but the weight was too much. I don't really even care for 5.1 or 7.1 sound in headphones. I think that's kind of silly tbh. Stereo is all I need.

If you take good care of your headsets...Icemat(or steelseries now I guess) Siberias. My wife and I both have a set...they've both lasted almost 8 years. The mic that came with mine died about 2 weeks ago...it's been rolled over, chewed on, yanked on etc for that entire time(thank you dogs and kids)...can't really complain. Headsets still have good sound. If you throw/slam headsets don't waste your money...they are fairly durable but have no chance of standing that sort of abuse. Amazon has some starting at $65 depending on which model you get.

Re: Mic not working
Hah! I haven't thrown a headset since CPL 2001! Good to know though.
I was looking at the A40 but it seems pretty expensive. The other one I was checking out was a Sennheiser. It sucks because not having a headset makes me not want to play CS, and just as I was ready to return from my turkey break.

Re: Mic not working
Your best option is to get a good high quality pair of headphones instead of a headset, and than a clip on mic.
A few options..
Audio Technica ATH-AD700
Sennheiser HD558
Beyerdynamic DT770
Then grab a mic...:
Zalman ZM-MIC1 (Clip on mic)
AntLion ModMic
If you really must get a headset. Grab a pair of Sennheiser PC 350, or PC 360.
Plus these headphones will last you forever, where as headsets tend to break as they're much lower quality with high profit margins.
I've owned my Sennheiser HD555's now for 8 years now. Not a single issue, and still working with no degradation.
