I believe that was only an official servers ban. Not a VAC ban.

From the looks of it, because the guy was playing on a Valve Official Server, it was fairly easy to ban the player. Valve has tons of data that comes from the Official Servers!

All they had to do was look him up, find the servers he was in and took a look at his stats to do a quick ban.

Also - apparently the VAC ban on his profile is 'older then this incident', according to a Valve mod that posted regarding it, and the user wasn't VAC banned for this incident, just banned from matchmaking in CSGO.

Even so - spiffy none-the-less. :P
