Thread: Time for better servers?

the TPG Servers are populated 12+ hours a day with multiple people sitting on waitlists...
When is it time to upgrade to better servers?

I constantly hear complaints, and complain myself that the servers are choppy and registry is bad.

Im sure there would be at least a handful of us willing to donate towards better ones if money is really the issue...

I'm talking Xeon processor with 8 cores (16 virtual cores) and 16GB of RAM and enough bandwidth to share with all of Texas.

I (personally) think we need to tweak a few cvars and items in the cfg. We need to find a sweet spot with our size of a server vs. the tic rate. I'm sure there are a few other things we need to take a look at as well.

I have absolutely horrible internet, and I have to wait late at night to get to play anything. I've gotten so frustrated with cs:go, that I have played in many other servers and adjusted everything. My setup is elite, and to put it bluntly.. I have no fucking clue why I continue to play in the TPG servers.

Actually, I take that back.. I know why.. It is because TPG is my shit and I love the people there and my friends. But man.. The server really does blow guys. Why can't we just all agree that it plays like shit? Play in other 64 tick servers.. Smooth, so smooth. TPG is badass.. Why are we not the best out there? I think more people that play in many other servers need to post here, I would put money on that the only reason they play on TPG is because it is TPG, and to play with the regulars and friends we've created. They would agree that the servers really do reg and play badly.

For me, I have to say TPG usually reg's OK, especially when compared with the 64 tick servers that are used for competitive matchmaking. However I do think they would benefit enormously from at least 100 tick.

I would really love to help but nobody ever seems to be interested in my offerings.

You could take your server and clone the settings to one of my servers and we could do a test one day to see if it performs the same way. If it does then you know it's a settings issue. If it doesn't then it points the finger back at the server.

I'm willing to loan you resources to try this if it helps. I'm also willing to pour over your logs and performance monitors with you to see if I can spot something you may have overlooked.

And finally, I'm willing to just sit here and twiddle my thumbs until you guys get it sorted if that's the preferred process. Not wanting to piss in anybody's pool, but this is one of the few ways I can volunteer to help the community.

p.s. This is my setup that I built and own at the datacenter to support some of my businesses.
