Hopefully it doesn't suck, I would like to feel like I'm playing something somewhat different after 10+ years.

That's what i was thinking too. I hope they keep the classic feel, and not go to a COD feel.

Just please dont add any killstreaks to the game at all. If they do add shit like they have in Halo where you killstreak is just a double, triple, overkill, etc. And I really hope they dont change too much to the game. Afterall CS is still the highest populated and most played online multiplayer game since its beginning. No need to fix whats working at the core fundamentals of the game.

    Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)

IAmA guy who spend the day at Valve's HeadQuarters, playing and helping them develop the next version of CS, AMA : IAmA

"There are a few new guns (and all the guns have been changed more or less, but their current versions aren't at all final). There are also a couple of new nades, which are pretty cool. There are molotov grenades, which create a fire-blanket that slows players are little. It sounds crazy, but it actually played really well I think, even though the size/dmg might need a bit tweaking. The other new nade is a decoy-nade, that can play firing-sounds, so it can be used to fake that a player is in a position. Not sure how usable it is, but the idea is pretty nice I think."

"All the maps have names you know, but most of them have been altered. Dust2 only has very minor changes from the source version, but the other maps have some pretty big changes (most importantly dust and aztec have been changed to try and make them more usable for 5on5 play)
The deagle is about as powerful as in source, but it's hard to tell after such little playing time, we spent more time trying out other guns/stuff mostly."

based on that, i'd say it's going to look a lot like cs:source, and it will cater to the competitive crowd (pro-modders... bleh). hoping they add some new objective types, ie get vip maps back & expand on dual objective maps.

i also hope they keep it a pure infantry/tactical shooter feel. it would suck if they started throwing in vehicles and whatnot to cs or opened it up like bf2/bc2 where you can get anywhere from anywhere.

ps - molotov nades on d2? good grief...

pps - if they make no other improvement to the existing game, please valve, please add kill assists.

I hope they can make it feel fresh without deviating too far from the simplicity of the game, which in my opinion is the core of its greatness.

I need to stop agreeing with manno so much... but +1 to kill assists!

I am excited, I also like that we are getting new guns and nades.

    Re: CS:GO (Global Operation)

Right now the biggest worry I have is that the game will be released on consoles. Nothing good ever comes from that (See COD2+, as well as BF3).

Please don't dumb down the game. Keep the unique recoil mechanic please.
    We can do better.

Kill assist would be awesome. I know I always damage players so that others can kill them.

I hate the molatavs idea. A good tov could light a whole team, leaving no chance to win.
