money system
I was reading about the money system in CSS and there were a couple things I didn't realize:
1) T's earn $3250 for killing all the CTs and $3500 for detonating the bomb.
Sometimes there is only one CT left and it is too late to defuse the bomb. The CT will often run to the bomb anyways and try to defuse for the $100 bonus. The remaining T's should leave him alone but they never do. Someone takes the easy kill and gets the $300 kill bonus. But he only nets $50 because he loses the $250 detonation bonus. Worse, he deprives the rest of his team the $250 bonus. Good for his k2d ratio but bad for the team.
2) A T-side "save out" resets the losing bonus.
A "save out" is when you flee or hide at the end of a losing round in order to save your guns. If your team lost the last round this is bad for your team because failing to die will reset the losing bonus. The losing bonus can be anywhere from $500 to $2000 depending on how many consecutive rounds your team has lost. The surviving terrorist keeps his guns but he deprives himself and the rest of his team the losing bonus. Very bad for the team!
This scenario usually happens accidentally in one of three ways: (a) the last surviving T loses track of the clock and fails to plant in time (b) a T is all the way across the map during a plant attempt, everyone on his team dies, and he can't get to the bomb site in time for an attempt to stop the defusal (c) the last T plants but fails to guard the bomb.
