What is a "team player"?
I don't know how to keep this short. I would like to point out all of the little things that people do to basicaly stay alive but that would be gay. I would like to post player names of those that I see as baiters, those that never lead a rush and those that wait out the bomb time to kill T's instead of defusing, but that would be gay. So I will only say this:
Fuck your stats.
Don't be a bitch.
Lead the rush.
Defuse the bomb.
Play your spawn position.
Look at radar.

Re: What is a "team player"?
This....is all you need to know to be a team player. Don't be a bitch and sell out your team, don't be a bitch and avoid the rush because your scared to die, it's not real life, your going to re spawn in a few minutes. Don't be a bitch and camp the easy site when there's already 5 cts there. Don't be a bitch and rage quite when your losing, yea "don't be a bitch" is pretty much the only rule you must abide by to be a good teamplayer.

Re: What is a "team player"?
I've thought about this question quite a bit, and I think it's definitely worth discussion. I don't think you can simply list out six points and describe what a "team player is." It looks more like an opinion what you think a team player does, and I don't think it's so simple.
I would like to point out all of the little things that people do to basicaly stay alive but that would be gay.
If I'm towards the back and see this as an option I usually vocalize and ask the caller, but I just think it is a good example of why a "he who dies first dies with most honor" train of thought is, in fact, not a crucial element of team play. Good communication, following the call, and paying attention to radar (like you said Vin) are.
I would like to post player names of those that I see as baiters, those that never lead a rush and those that wait out the bomb time to kill T's instead of defusing, but that would be gay.
If I see the first person peel off no sweat off my back.
Defuse the bomb.
Play your spawn position. Look at radar.

Re: What is a "team player"?
Small things would be:
People spawned for a rush not taking it or bailing out from first
Last CT alive going for picks instead of bomb when its planted
Ts sitting back on the last half of the push into site - I know this can be helpful at times, just have to watch how many people are doing it and how many CTs are approaching (Watch radar on lost temple and you'll see what I mean)
When those that were supposed to fake a site/rush don't or only go half way for picks and then turn back
The same person on T alive at the end of the rounds or last to die - this one can be tricky, but often its the people that don't lead on a rush or get into site until they really have to
People not paying attention to the scoreboard on warm-up round - helps when one side is stacked; people have to be willing to switch unless they're in spec
There are other small things but I don't remember all of them. I won't post any names up and I don't think anyone else should because then it turns into an uncontrolable argument and thats not the point of this.
I don't think a team player can be so easily defined. Scotzos description is the best way to put it but it is pretty complex when you break it down.
This is a short summary of how I play the game from the minute I join the server until the game is over:
1 - Check scoreboard to see who is on what team. I'm not the best player but I like to help out.
2 - Look at my spawns every round. Unless I'm told otherwise I go for where I spawn.
3 - Only use the mic when I need to say something that is relative to the round.
4 - If I'm on T and we slow play or if I'm on CT I keep an eye on radar to see how many people are in what site/side of the map. When numbers thin out and I'm alive I rotate over.
5 - Stay in site until I see bomb/check all corners of site until I know its clear.
6 - Keep an eye on radar and scoreboard periodicaly during rounds
^ Some of this is very situation based, it doesn't always work all of the time.
I tend to have a very high standard in what I think a team player is. I don't expectate but I expect a lot of common sense in what it means to help your team. I wouldn't define myself as the best team player but I do what I can to help and its those that don't help and play more self centered that really hit that nerve.
