    de_strata

Alright, so I'm not the greatest map reviewer. Most maps seem balanced to me. This map is just like any other de_ map for the most part; there is an A and B site and a middle. A site is sort of like B on dust2; it has a very narrow main entrance for Ts but is also accessible from mid allowing for a good 2-way split. B is probably the easier site to rush for Ts. There is a long hall with windows looking into B site that the T team must run across. B is also accessible from upper mid and gives whoever is in upper a good view looking down into site. Mid is packed with connectors allowing for some good splits for the Ts. The map isn't too crowded or too big. The bomb sites are a little further apart than most but still allows for the CTs to rotate with more than enough time to defuse.

    GAMEBANANA: de_strata (Counter-Strike: Source > Maps > Bomb/Defuse > de_strata)
^ I think thats where you can download the map.

    Anyone played it? Thoughts?

Edit: There are little circles with an "X" to represent the bombsites, I had decal limit set to 0 so you don't see them... :S

Never seen it, but it looks sweet: compact and fast paced, but a lot of cover and boxes for a full TPG server. Uploading it up to our private server so if you want to 10 man it up and test it I am waaaay down.

    Mid window from T side.
To the right is an entrance to B hall. Front right is a connector to CT spawn. You can't really see it but front left is the connector to A. Directly below is an entrance to mid from T spawn.

Mid from CT perspective(sort of), I'm way up off the ground, the roof(s) are not accesible.
To the right down the stairs is an area near A entrance for Ts.

I do not know the names of locations aside from A/B/Mid/T+CT spawn. I'm down for testing, post up the date and time, hopefuly others would be interested. For testing do you guys just jump in and play it as if it were a regular map? Certain people for testing or everyone welcome? I would suggest a walkthrough or something first so people get to know the map (if you don't do it already).

I'd be up for trying it. We could even get it on the TPG match server and plan a 24 man play test if there is interest.

Played around in it this morning, and I don't like how B site is set up. Lower B is a narrow hallway with windows that you can see in B. It takes about 2 secs to run through the hall, and the first window is at the front of it. Giving more than enough time to bank a flash to kill any rush. I just don't see it not being a cluster fuck on 10v10.

How many people were you playing with and what were the teams like? Did the person calling know good strats or was it just "go B" every round?

I would love to play test it with the TPG crowd.

It was just me, but I can easily see how fucked a T team could get. CT's come into B right at the same level as the first window and could easily shut a rush down with just 2 flashes and some nades.

Well, let's save criticism 'til we play it :P I understand what you mean, but things don't usualy play out the exact same way every round .

    Re: de_strata

I'm not saying it'll happened every round, but from the layout, B site can easily be held every map by 2-3 players(3 being kinda overkill). haha

    Re: de_strata

It has nice wide open angles, and clear cut pathing and clean long range (but not stupidly too long) bomb sites for holding/ getting picks. Looks like a good map. Alot of custom maps either make no sence, or have tight close range hallways making it hard for 10 v 10 play without everying using a p90 / getting nade spammed.

    I want to play it!
