now I can't play CS:S for shit, due to about 250 constant ping and horrible fps's :'( I've already exitted most of my programs(messengers, media players, browsers)...but I still can't seem to get any normal gmaeplay

When youre resetting your modem, unplug all 3 cords (power, CAT5, COAX). Make sure to take the coax and tap it on some metal to clear it of any static buildup. It sounds weird but a Comcast tech once told me to do it and it actually helped my speed a bit.
