Thread: Mouse Problem

Every time I load up CS:S or join a server my mouse icon freezes in the middle if the screen and just blinks there. It doesn't show up on a screenshot, but just think of it as a 2nd blinking non-active mouse icon on the screen. So I have one that works and just another one that just sits there a blinks. It's very bothering and distracting. I've tried restarting and installing again, but it still stays there. Any ideas?

does this just happen for cs:s only? or is it other games/programs as well.. ALSO, I know that someone will ask this eventually have you tried un-installing the old drivers and re-installing the new ones?.. One other point if you're using a logitech G5 mouse I was told by someone that they have a firmware update for the mouse hardware that fixed problems/improves performance..

I don't know, I've tried everything! It's only happens for CS:S.

allright, do you have an extra mouse that you can plug in to test with the extra device?

Are you running any other apps in the background that could be windowed or come up as pop-ups such as MS Messenger, virus alerts, etc? Sometime these apps will force themselves to the front of the screen making your windows cursor active.

In addition to what BrokenApe said have you tried refreshing/ reinstalling you video card drivers?

Try deleting your cstrike folder and then start your game again, see if that helps


Default path is C:\Program files\Steam\steamapps\your accnt name\counter strike source\

Deleting this folder won't hurt anything. I would suggest backing up and skins/sounds/or maps that you don't want to re download.
