    XP or Linux?

I was thinking about getting another hard drive for my pc and putting SuSe Linux on it so i can use it just for gaming and then use my XP for school work and shit.

I heard that Linux runs CS:S smoother than Windows does... any inputs?

    XP or Linux?

Well, that is questionable because I don't think the video drivers are as good for linux. So it may run better, but it may not appear as good.

But, you should give it a try and let us know. I'd be interested to know the results.

generally gaming and linux don't go hand in hand. Linux is no doubt a powerfully and highly configurable OS, but is not well suited for some kind of applications.

It is much easier to get a linux box to do school stuff than it is gaming, office aplications, IM, email are easier to setup than getting modern games to run.

Well i use XP right now too, but my uncle does ALOT with computers and shit... He told me that if i ran my games off of the Linux OS, it would probably run smoother. I personally don't know, thats why i am asking.

But i think im gunna go ahead and do it and try it out.

Most large universities have computer clubs that do install fests, basicly the linux nerds get together to help new users get linux installed on their machines. I would look into to see if A&M does one, or atleast talk to a *nix nerd about whats envolved.
