hooked on cs how did u get hooked?

well i was in lebanon in 2000 visting faily for the summer and my cousin's cousin owned a place with a bunch of computers linked together on a lan and i got to play for free so wat they did was pick up teams and play cs all day it was awsome. i didnt play since then until this past summer but that experience in lebanon was awsome

I've moved on from CS, but I was hooked when it came with my Half-Life 1 game. I played it for like 4-6 years, but when BF1942 came out I stopped.

I started to play CS way back when it was in Beta 5... yes that before CS source before public release 1.0... That was a long ass time ago, Good stuff. Sad thing is now im not so good at CS any more, to many games to play and not enough time

While i was in my duke nukem 3d/command and conquer phase back in '95.. I started reading up on all these new bad ass games coming out: Forsaken, SiN, and Half-Life. Anyone remember?? All 3 games were hyped up to be revolutionary. I bought Sin before half life, beat it, then bought half life. Beat the game then started playing the highly addictive add on called Team Fortress Classic (TF2's predecessor). I thought I was in heaven then, but then out of no where, this game called Counter strike comes out, I was hooked since it's beta release date in '96 (i was in 6th grade). Me and a buddy both hopped on as soon as it came out. Cs_mansion was the only map at that time i believe. Ever since then its been non stop except when i took a 2 year break from 2002-2004. (missing the source release, i was late on that) 12 Years later im still playing the same god damn game. That means something.

Haha I used to watch my dad play duke nukem 3d and doom original on p.c. back in 95, when I was like 7 years old.

Then I got my first playstation when they came out for christmas and got doom 1 on that, then assorted oldschool shooters and platformers on the p.c.s back then. Man that shit was insane.

Definitely some oldschool stuff, I was a little tyke.

well, I live in the boonies, so broadband internet came very recently, which sucks because I had been a PC gamer for a while before, well I move off to college and I built a new PC, and I needed something to benchmark it with. Well what dropped about that time, Half Life 2, and what came with it, Counter Strike Source. Wam bam thank you ma'am.

CS:S is literally the most addictive online fps ever made...hands down.

But anyway my first encounter with CS was when i was about 7-8 went to my step bros house. He was playing with his friend a shooting game (of course an 8 year old would be interested in guns that go bang) he said it was counter-strike and so I went there alot just to play the game eventually parents said yes and bought CS 1.6.

Then my comp got struck by lightning...mobo was fucked so no CS for about 2-3 years. Later, my bother in-law bought me a copy of CS:S after failing to download it, which was one of the best days of my life, right after it was loaded for action I searched servers and I found my new home TTP on the same day.

Playing ever since, and never going to stop!
