Thread: LOST

Ok This is going to be the dumbest thing ever but ..umm.. I don't get CS. I popped in and was totally confused. Something about buying stuff and what are you suppose to do anyways. IT lasted about 2 mins ..lol they all you do is watch if you die.

I need the basics BOYS. The basics. I am all for learning new things but WOW I was lost.

O ya How do you aim or put your corsshairs on someone?

at the start of each round push B to bring up your buy menu.   From there you can select your weapon (If you have enough money) and go into the fight.  shooting/aiming is the same as BF2, but right clicking doesn't aim down the iron sights.

On DE maps (you can tell the the de in front of the name ex: de_dust 2) The terrorists rush to a bombsite and plant the bomb (hold left mouse) and the couter terrorists try to stop them or defuse (hold down E while facing the bomb).

On CS maps (ex: cs_office) the Couter terrorists try to rescue hostiges (sp?) while the terrorists guard them.

when you die, you die for the round, which last 1-2 min, you spectate for the rest.  if you need to know how to get in, after the TTP banner thing pops up and you hit ok, another window pops up saying t/ct/spectate where you can join.

Just the basics, and if this is your first time, expect to die a lot.  When I first came over from BF2 my score was around 2-30

I am right there with you Dusty. When you start the game click options then keyboard. You can see and edit all your controls. I got my laptop to play CS:S, so you might see me there, and maybe have a chance to kill me.

Were you one of the "unnamed"s that came in on de_train just now?

The first thing you might want to do is change your name in options so that we can recognize you in-game, and give you some pointers there.

Short of that, you may want to create your own server and experiment with the controls. Play a de_ map, run around, and try planting the bomb.

and the aiming thing? ARe the bad guys BLUE?

If you are Terrorist, then yes, the enemy is blue.

If you are Counter-Terrorist, the colors vary, but you should be able to distinguish them easily enough.

When you join the game, and pick a team, scroll your mouse over the different skins to see what they look like. That should make it a little easier.

well when I signed up for CS i added this name but I didn't realize you have to do it again .. YES sadly it was I that was a lost sole there doing nothing to help

I was unnamed for a bit, then I couldn't figure out what my talk key was, so I bailed to the options and changed it, then I got a phone call. I will be back with my real name.

friendly fire is off, so just shoot and see who dies  

Cts (counter terrorists) are mainly blue and wear helmets, ts (terrorists) are a variety of colours. on the scoreboard TAB cts are blue, and Ts are red
