Slumps....
So, for the last 3 or 4 days, I've been playing like shit. I know I'm not badass or anything, but you can definitely tell when you're playing is 'off'. It seems to be that way for me.
Anyone else notice when they're playing is 'off'? How do you get over it? Just curious.
For me, either going to TF2 or trying to learn to fly the jets and choppers in BF2 helps a little bit, takes my mind off the game, then I can come back. Today, though, I just can't get 'on'. Pun, I know you've been in a slump for awhile.
I hate playing and getting frustrated, because your session usually ends a lot sooner than you wanted. I just stopped in Piranesi because I was playing so stupid...

Re: Slumps....
Aight ive got my off ness down to a science,
When i tend to start doing bad its because ive made a habit out of doing something, it tends to be something thats usually worked well before... like spraying for example.
The only way i have found that ive been able to break these habits is to either swap between 2 games daily or to take a break from css for a day or 2 and play another game. That way when i come back my minds clear and i can concentrate on what i need to do... frag.

Pretty much the same as Bunni, but it'll depend on how bad of a slump I think I'm in. A few weeks ago I was doing horrible as many of you might remember (I went something like 10 and 30 as CT on Pira and doing just as bad a few maps after that
). Usually what works best for me is to just take a break and do something else, anything else and then come back to it. If I feel like I'm still doing real bad, I'll take another break.
That's also the reason why I play on again and off again for so many years. I'll either get in a really bad slump and quit, get bored with it because it is too "easy" (not a problem though with TTP), or I get tired of the same old same old of CSS since it's pretty much the same game it was back when I started in beta whatever and I can only take so much of a game at a time.
It might seem silly too, but it helps for me. The longest break I've took I was believe about 2 years or so, it was shortly after Steam was launched and 1.6 (or 1.5?) was a mess with the Riot Shields at the time and the Galil and Famas had just been added. When I came back Source was out and the only reason I had it was because it came with HL2.
I might be taking a big break again soon because I am getting a little tired of the crap that happens in CS, although it is hard when TTP makes it so much fun still.I might be picking COD4 or just heading back to 2142 or focus on TF2...we'll see.

Re: Slumps....
Id have to agree on going to the fridge and popping the top on a nice frosty beverage. But, I have my good days and my bad days just like everyone else. Usually just for me I have to adjust the way im sitting in the chair.. Sitting up straight, sometimes the way my legs are crossed or how my hand is gripping the mouse can affect the way i play. I think for me my best play time is right when i come home from work, when im still somewhat "aware" of everything and quick thoughts and reflexes... If its a day where im just sitting around sluffing off all day not doing a damn thing... thats usually my "off" days.
You've got to accept though that your going to have shitty days and theirs just sometimes nothing you can do to overcome it.
