Just going off of what I've heard as I've never found a good clan that wanted to compete in TWL. It was the league from what I remember back in the day, and OGL was always full of noobs hence why I said if you want to count it. :P

Never been much for league play though, so what do I know.

pretty much what happened is this. the CGS (championship gaming series) had a draft for players this past sunday among the pro teams of CSS. what happened was that all the teams that were participating in the draft, the same that compete in CPL, CEVO and other professional leagues, were under contract to participate in the upcoming CGS season and could not participate in other professional leagues. So what happend was that the talent pool dried up, or got really small with so few teams, and there are no new teams to compete on the professional circuit. Thats the cut and dry version of it.

what happened was someone decided to compete with the CPL, and the CPL's misguidance and mismanagement got themselves out-competed, and shut down.

so, as the poster above claimed.....CPL got pwned by another CPL that CPL was too lazy and slow to react to.

They will all slowly die. CPL's were made for games like pong. mindless duels between 2, or maybe 2v2, or 3v3 small potatoes games. Not the new deal, massive multiplayer 30+ on a team games like BF2 and 2142, or even decent CSS and DoD games of 10v10.

good.....fucking....riddance. Other than giving prick as leet gamers plaques to put on their prick ass wall, making them even more prickassish, and encouraging the production of games that are prick-friendly..........CPL has done nothing for evolving game content, quality, scope, or scale.

it's because of things like CPL that Kaos thought it was ok to release FFOW without VOIP. Id did the same with Quake Wars. Because the CPL "all stars" and bigtimers told em "yo, only teh nuubs use teh Vo!ps, dudez".
