Racism!

Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously, through institutions that promote inequalities among "races", as in institutional racism. The concept of "Hate speech" has been created in order to prosecute discriminative discourse, which may be penalized in various countries.

That comes straight from Wikipedia. Let me point out the important part.

Inequality means that you think someone is "less-than" or has less value than another entity (white, black, mexican, asian, ect).

FROM WEBSTERS DICTIONARY:

Racism: 1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

It is my belief that calling someone you like by a stereotype, racial slur, or a pet name, is far from racism. The reason i feel this way is the definition of the word (which you cannot argue).

Racism doesnt occur unless it is intendedly detrimental.

Every single time i sign on to the server, i use the word nigguh. NOT because i hate black people, not because i want to make light of the struggles they went through, not because i want ANYONE else to think differently about them.... i say it because you are all my nigguhs.

what a world this would be if everyone had no predjudices, if everyone saw past skin color and was nothing but nice to everyone else. Sadly, in the world we live there are racists. There are biggots. There are people who will just hate you for the way you dress, look, or talk. Luckily, in this world there are also advocates against racism and the hatred it brings.

Dont confuse the two.

While I won't argue what the definition of a word is, but now matter what you think racial slurs will NOT be tolerated on this srever AT ALL PERIOD.

And I would add, there is a big difference between saying "wussup nuggah" and "yo dawg" and saying "fuck the fag bean packers".

And you know it, so don't try and pull your first amendment rights or logic and theory into a common sense issue of etiquette and appropriateness in the server.

I too say "daammmmmn niggah" to my friends and teammates when they do something really great or really awful. And to those I happen to know are of hispanix origin, I may also throw out the few celebratory spanish slang phrases I may know, as gringo and maricon they may cause me to appear. And in doing so, I am trying to make my friends laugh, without being overly offensive to those who are not my friends, or don't know me.

this issue is being resolved by the admins, and is no longer up for public discussion. And though it may be moderately, and even selectively enforced, the rules are clear

yung and ender are both advised to clean up their candor with eachother. Though they may be in on it, it's quite obvious now that not everyone else is. And those other people that happen to be admins have a responsibility of preventing such behavior, which was done properly.
