can someone help me resolve some steam bullshit?
so i can get into css, but i have to go in offline mode, because apparently i am not hooked up to the internet, but if i go in offline mode and double click on css the servers show up and i can join: except steam still thinks im not hooked up to the internet, so i can't have the friends list work, which is like the only part of steam which anyone utilizes. So can anyone relate to this situation and help me get my friends list back!
yes, ive restarted my computer, restarted steam several times, is there some trick i have to do like change some steam options?
Thanks

This happened to me yesterday.
You have to go to your Steam folder and delete "Steam.dll", "SteamUI.dll", and "ClientRegistry.Blob". I did it, and it worked for me. Your favorites will be gone, though.

disable internet, then try steam start in offline, then turn on internet. try to access the internet through steam, if you can then its good, if not then restart steam, if all that dosent work, then go to your bros wedding and dont worry bout it till you get back

This also happened to me yesterday.
Hmmm...
I happened to have a week old backup of my games, uninstalled Steam and re-installed using backup.
Wish this was posted before I went through all that.
Donno why it does this.
