I was reading the post, about sv_pure and reminded me that I had to post about this.

I can't hear any of the in game admin songs. Is there something I can DL to get them back? It's bugging the hell outta me, and I miss hearing some of them. I fixed my in game setting to turn them on, but console says I'm missing them. I don't ever remember re DLing them from the server when I switch comps, so I'm sure that's why. Anwys what can I do about it?

I know steam has been having problems with this, me and a few friends all had the same problem after reinstalling steam in the last couple months for various reasons, it would say the sounds were being dled, but it was not saving the actual folder, even tried creating a sounds folder myself to see if it would stick and after running the game, it would delete the folder on it's own.... Eventually it just fixed itself, was assuming it was a steam update, so I dont know, I still have the same issue where it redls all the sounds over and over again everytime I join the server, and being new to the server, they may actually be sounds I am not hearing cause of the same issue =/ I wish I knew how to fix it too

Just a suggestion, but why don't you guys implement an in game streaming radio player.

I ran a DoD source server a while back, it's better than downloading songs, and a lot of the public hate downloading things, and quit the download before getting in the servers. No bandwidth required on the server side at all.

My HL1 day of defeat server has one in it I made, check my sig.

It's not about having constant music, but the sound clips the admins play are funny sometimes, and it was an issue of things like quake sounds for me before in a different server. It's random game sounds that we don't hear, I for one, would never use a music player, but I do know some people do enjoy it.

If your talking about just sounds, they need to be added to a .res and bziped, and added to the fast download url if you are not getting them.

Shouldn't have to do anything, if they are dling from the server, they should be getting saved, so how would one know what sounds? Unless I sat and tried to write them down as it speeds through them as the map loads O.o

from what I understand Adreth, different songs download on different maps played... so you may have some of the sound clips like I do, but not all of them because we havent down loaded them yet...

like kill bill shank music.. I still dnt have it.

Hes talking about what the admins should do to make them download faster.

clear out your css downloads:
For now delete:
counter-strike source\cstrike\sound\*
counter-strike source\cstrike\materials\temp\* <- isnt actually temporary....

then start css and enter in console

Code:

cl_allowdownload 1; cl_downloadfilter all

then go ahead and connect to the server
when your in, type in
settings
and make sure system sounds is set to on

you should be good let me know if you need any more help
