Read some of the stickies for some useful info.

Above all, just play. People here are pretty darn good and some are insanely good, like any game. CS though, is very skill based and the hardest part is mastering your aim in conjuction with recoil. Take it slow and try not to hold down the trigger until you can get a feel for the guns. 1-3 shot burts are ideal, but it will take some time, since most noobs just want to spray and pray. Don't get discouraged, because we all have bad days, but keep in mind many here have been doing this for years. The best advice I can give is just follow the call. If you don't understand the call, just try to follow the team and don't be afraid to get shot. You just gotta know you are already dead. Good luck...

Work on reflexes. I find the thing thatsaves me the most is being able to figure out where someone is and shoot them ASAP. That and people not expecting SMG's

The whole recoil thing I shouldn't have a problem with. I never go full auto in 2142, you might as well be aiming 5ft to the left if you are.

Not to be a downer, but prepare to get killed...a lot. If you're like I was when I started, you'll be dumbfounded at how quickly you die in this game as opposed to a battlefield type game, but don't give up! It's like Toker said, it takes time. I've been playing for 4 years and I still am learning new things. Read stickies like he said and first and foremost, ask questions while playing and spec other players! I'm sure you'll find any reg more than happy to offer some tips

    Re: Whats up?

A good strategy for beginning players is to join the winning side of the map, follow the best player around (be very close to them as to block their movements when then try to "peek"). This way you learn the map, and have a meat shield that will probably leave one or two wounded before they die allowing you to pick up the kills.

Seriously prob the best thing you can do is to listen to the other players on your team and utilize the mic. Let people know you are new and most will help you out and at the very least it will make them think twice about going for a votekick when your the last one alive guarding a cinder block instead of the bomb.

the shooting in 2142 is much easier than css. you actually have to account for the recoil, I see people go full auto all the time in 2142 and it works fine in many cases.

Prepare to say "wtf" every time someone kills you in css and remember: everyone gets 98 damage in 8 hits sometimes. it's just the way cs is. You'll understand what I mean after playing a bit.

I hope this was a joke, because this seems like a great way to get a lot of people to dislike you and is not teamplay at all. The second part about letting people know you are new is a great idea though and, like he said, will help you stay away from a votekick

    Re: Whats up?

I'd have to say 2142 doesn't even compare to CSS when it comes to the accuracy of guns. Just toss everything you know about shooting out the window and come in here with an open mind.

Your best bet is to get in there and fight... die... and repeat until you get the hang of it. Don't get too frustrated because this can be a HARD game on TTP.

Make sure you follow the call as well.
