New (old) CAL config
Just curious on what you guys' thoughts were on the CAL config changing?
For those of you who don't know, last season it was:
$16,000 starting cash at each half, 1:20 round time, and a shortened pre-round time.
They've changed it back to the old setting where you begin with $800 cash and have 1:45 round time, in addition to the lengthened pre-round time (I think it went from 10 seconds to 15 seconds)
I'm curious what you guys thoughts are on this?
Some people are for it because it eliminates AWP-whoring teams, others are against it because the pistol round can give the advantage to the T's. (Answer: nade-stack two of the 4 chokepoints)
Personally, I enjoy it. It makes the game dynamics change entirely. You've got to coordinate buy strats with map strats and you've got plenty of time to pull more fakes.
Let's hear some commentary!

Re: New (old) CAL config
The only potential problem I see is that whoever wins round 1 usually goes on to win rounds 2 and 3 as well, because of the jump on cash.
Of course, I've seen plenty of R2 deagle rushes by both CTs and Ts to recover from the 1st round.
What are your thoughts on winning the 1st round?
Many people think that if you win the 1st, you should go MP5 the 2nd round. I can't say I entirely agree with this. Depending on the map, of course, I think that if you can let the people who died that round buy nothing and the people who lived buy an MP5 and pull a fake, it works amazing. Then you have the MP5s usually take over a site, causing the rotation, and the pistolas walk into the other site and plant. The MP5s clean up on the rotation.
Of course, the counter to this is that if the MP5s cannot take the first site initially, they lose they're guns and then the pistolas are down both man and gun.

Re: New (old) CAL config
ive played both a bit and i do like the new (old) or whatever (800$) usually the team who wins the first round kinda wins it all though cause the other team then must save up cash buy sticking with the pistols while the others jumping around with the awps xD and i usually hate awps so theres another reason why. Its such an odd switch from the scout to an awp

Re: New (old) CAL config
....its a huge failure, i know CAL has gone under some new management if i remember correctly and im sure this is some doing from the new CEO of the organization and its a disaster.
$800 start money is a joke, always has been and thats why CAL went to a CEVO config, i can see alot of teams dropping out or having to re-strat everything again which is bullshit. They should make their minds up and stick with the S11 config. CAL will fall like CPL if it continues.

Re: New (old) CAL config
I personally think they should come to a medium somewhere. Like $7500 starting money or something....16k was kinda bad because of the whorish teams out there. Yet, 800 does make you pull out the inner gamer in you and really start thinking about every last button you press during a round. Which is fine and all, just a little too old in my opinion...change it up but not to the point to where people can just buy out the first 4 or 5 rds.
15 second freezetime?? Dear god wtf. WHY...TELL ME WHY. 10 was PUH-LENTY!
1:45 rd time. Me gusta me gusta. 25 seconds more gives more time to execute slow plays a lot more efficiently.
I like some of the changes. Jsut wish starting money was a lil bit higher

I have only scrimmed a few times, but it seems that with 16k whoever has the best AWPer(s) will win. Most league maps have choke points that AWPs control. So if you have 1-2 good AWPs you can shut the other team down. With 800 at least they have to get a few kills with another weapon to earn their AWP.
