    My own server?

I'm not affiliated with any clan on TTP and was wondering if I start my own CS:S server if there would be any backlash? I'm a regular on the TF2 servers and if I see some of my TTP on via steam I'd want to invite them if they were interested. Is this ok?

Considering you are not affiliated with any clan on TTP, you are still a reg here.

If it has a password on it, then it's fine. But don't come into the TTP servers and advertise it nor come on the forums and advertise it.

If it doesn't have a password, then it is a public server and it competes with TTP traffic.. and we won't allow that.

I wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of people to play with on the ttp servers if that's the deal. If there isn't enough spots for you and your friends, then why waste the money? Go find an empty server if you have a large group that couldn't fit into the ttp tf2 servers (which are near impossible to get into since they are so popular). Either that are get your friends to buy reserved slots

My bad, I didn't check the forum we were in. Doesn't matter I guess, the CSS servers are both difficult to get into as well. Either way, the money you'd spend on your own server just as well be spent on reserved slots here. At least that way you are helping ttp as well as assuring you get a server.

Why would I advertise on TTP? That's just dumb. Me and my room mate found out that when we quit playing condition zero 4 years ago that the same community continued on and even named a server with site forums after us. We found these people again years later and they even have a whole story written about us it's crazy. I just wanted to start us a CS:S for us old friends so we can all get together again. It would just be me and my old friends and whatever other random person comes walking in. I would never talk about the server or advertise it anywhere. Some of these guys were kids the last time we heard from them. They carried our old clan tag for 4 years waiting for us to return and wtf we found each other again. I know the story sounds super ghey but it's real. We do dumb shit like zombie mods with music and all sorts of stupif shit we ued to do that would never take place on a TTP server respectively.

Well yea I see where you're comin from now with your previous question. Yea I came across wrong in the way I said that. I should have said my friends on steam I have that aren't affiliated with TTP.
