Re: starting to lose my cs:s touch
You just have to hold on Sora till CoD: MW2 or CS2 comes out. (Valve confirmed work on a sequel to CS but we all know they'll put that out sometimes after I start Social Security.

Re: starting to lose my cs:s touch
I have slumps all the time... i usually give css a couple days break and come back strong.
Or like vafa said, stop caring so much sometimes that helps.
For me though, usually if i have at least two beers in me I start to play rather well.

Re: starting to lose my cs:s touch
Do what I'm doing right now... take a month or two break. Last time, which was an 8 minth break, I came back and was doing AMAZING. I had scores like 35-9, 28-10, 42-13, etc. Very good scores cause I took a break. I'm very curious to see how I play when I get back from my 1 1/2 month break. Another thing... DO'T GET INTO ANOTHER GAME (such as TF2). I played TF2 for like a week, went back to css, and did the worst Ive ever played. I think I had like a .7 kdr. It took me MONTHS to get the skill back.
Solution: 1-3 month break
It will work for ya.

Re: starting to lose my cs:s touch
I understand where you're coming from sora. Which is why, I'll disappear from some ttp games for a long while...but you can always find me in another one.
I initially played dod here, it got stale on me, so I switched over to css for a while...same thing happend. So I moved onto Bf2...it got old, so I bought Tf2, then cod4, etc...until I started repeating the rotation.
Before recently I hadnt played css in months, because I was indulged in bf2, then dod....now I'm back in css because I'm enjoying myself. I'm sure I'll get bored eventually, in which case, I'll play another game on ttp for a few weeks/months.
I never could understand those players that played css exclusively for years at a time (or any game exclusively for that matter). Just start hangin out on ttp's other game servers.

Re: starting to lose my cs:s touch
Sora,
One word, lethargy. You see this in a lot of competitive sports. You must continue to find new ways to challenge yourself or you will start just going through the motions which leads to an inevitable drop in production. You still have the same ability you had before but you have some how lost interest in the game. It is hard to get that unquenchable thirst for skills you had when you first started playing. Some people take a break, others try new weapons or change their gaming style. I suggest you change how you approach the game and your mentality when entering a server. To stay at the top you must always set new goals. This is the best way to get back into your old form. Set a goal of being the top fragger on a map, work for a specific kpd ratio or try and get positive kpds on the players that you currently do not have one on. I find that by continually working towards a goal my passion for the game never fades. I hope that you find your old flame and come back better than ever because it makes it that much more enjoyable when I kill you :P
Good luck,
[xXx] (3)manno
