Thread: Ladder System (MCSL) First Season Start Date

note: I was just informed by koopa that there may be a problem with the ladder causing it to not allow you to add more members once you have 5 added. Me and Ash are looking into it and if it is an issue I will get it fixed ASAP

I have heard that sevral of you are having trouble or have questions about the ladder system. Hopefully this will help to answer some of those questions.

The gaming league is almost ready. We need a few things from every player who is participating in the league to do a few things prior to us being able to start the first season.



Make sure your team has registered for the League on the MCSL forum

**The forum registration is to ensure the league admin has a list of all teams playing in the league for each season.
**This will change later so that all you need to do is sign up via the Ladder System.



After you have registered your team on the forum, we need each team member to create an account on the ladder system.


I have provided a quick tutorial of how the ladder system works for those of you that have not yet created your accounts. It is important that each team and their members create an account on the ladder system so that each match can be tracked and recorded. Once you have created an account, you should advise your team leader of your “Player ID� so they can then add you to the teams’ roster. Teams with less than 5 players on their roster cannot report wins and losses for the league, so this is why every member in the league has an account and they are correctly placed under the respective teams.



Once all the teams have successfully placed themselves in the ladder we can then publish the season schedules.

MCSL LADDER SYSTEM TUTORIAL

Joining the ladder:

1. Access: http://midwestservers.org/
2. Click “MCSL� from the left Navigation menu – A new window opens up.
3. On the new window (Ladder System) - Click “New player signup� from the left Navigation menu.
4. Complete your registration and click “Create my account�.
5. You will receive the following message “Before you can play on the Ladders you must Validate your account.�
6. Log into your email account (whichever one you used), and click the link to validate your account.
7. You will be brought to the screen “Validate Your Account� – Click “Validate Me�.
8. You will then be brought to the Welcome Screen. YOUR PLAYER ID IS LISTED HERE. WRITE IT DOWN!!!
9. Now click “Home� from the left Navigation menu and at the top right login using your player ID and password you selected.

You now have an account on the Ladder system.


Creating a team:
First, only the Team leader should create a Team. If you are not a team leader, bypass this section.

Team Creation:
1. After logging in with your player ID, from the left Navigation menu click “Join a ladder�.
2. Select the ladder you are creating a team for. If there are multiple ladders make sure you select the correct Ladder and Season.
3. In the “*Name� field, list the Team name.
4. In the “Tag� field, list your teams tag (ie, [SK])
5. “Tag placement refers to if the tag will appear after the players name or before it.
6. fill out the remaining fields and click “Join ladder�.

You will then receive a confirmation message about your team’s creation, which will look something like this:
“Your have joined the CSS ladder Teamname ! Click Manager on the menu to modify this team.�


Adding members to your team
Team leaders only, if you are not a team leader, bypass this section.

1. Click “Manager� from the left Navigation menu.
2. Under the heading “Team Information�, click “[Invite Member]�.
3. In the field on the next screen, enter the “PLAYER ID� of the player you are inviting. NOTE: the player must be registered in the MCSL Ladder system. If you do not know the players ID, you will have to select “Player List� from the left Navigation menu to find out what a play’s ID is. I would suggest having your members send this to you rather then you searching for them.
4. Update: Due to invitations expiring before the 7 day interval, Team leaders will now be able to just add members to their team. The member added will receive an email advising them of the addition and allowing the option to remove themselves from the team.

Joining a team
1. Log into the email account you used when you registered on the Ladder System.
2. There should be an email there with instructions and information confirming you were added to a team.
3. If you do not want to be on the team you were added to, or you think your being added to the team was a mistake, you can also log onto the Ladder system, Click “Manager� from the left Navigation menu and remove yourself from the team you were added to.

Match reporting
1. All teams that play in Ladder matches are required to self report their scores.
2. Log onto the Ladder system,
3. If you are the team that lost, YOU MUST REPORT YOUR LOSS. Click “Report a loss� from the left Navigation menu and fill out the required information.
4. If you are team that won, YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR WIN. Click “Confirm a Win� from the left Navigation menu and fill out the required information.
5. You match will then show up for the ladder you are reporting for in the match results area of the Ladder System or via your team stats.

Yea I dont know what the hold up is for our clan members to get over there and get this done. I was the last clan made and Ive got all 10 of my guys signed up teamed up ready to go and now were waiting on you guys... ( D, KB, BD ) Cmon it takes like 2 minutes to sign up get er dun!!!

heh, don't go and place all the blame on your teams. I know we got some slow ones on our end too. I would be willing to bet you the last team to have this done is a TGD team and not a TTP one.


The problem koopa pointed out has been identified and Ash has informed me he will have it fixed by the end of the day. This has been part of the problem with teams not registering all thier members.

Roster problem fixed. Get your teams up dur folks.

I am daily yelling at our members to get on the freakin stick about this. Its so easy to do and takes like all of 2 minutes.

BTW, I fixed the team thing. You can now list up to 20 members on your rosters.
