Clans here have done the whole competitive thing. Some succeed some dont. I was in one that was highly competitive and trust me all it does is bring too much drama to the table. The further into I got, the less fun I was having and the more it seemed like work to me to play and have fun. CSS is not dead, but all the clans here do not want to do the competitive scene due to the overwhelming time commitment you need to have in order to participate in the scene. I for one got burnt out and was not enjoying it anymore.

Gets even worse when you run a competitive clan. Burned myself out of this game completely for like 5 years. Getting submissions, schedules, rosters, site, moderating forums/IRC chan, recruiting when needed, strat sessions, scrims, disciplinary action, working disputes and internal politics, etc etc etc.. Even when delegating its a pain in the ass.

On top of that the 5v5 gameplay is entirely different world. This is why I like TTP so much. You get an environment of team-players, that is both fun and administrated fairly. There are no real commitments beyond upholding the standards of the server. And if a resident clan wants a little competitive match with another, there seems to be enough here for you guys to work with.
