New, maybe impossible, idea?
Hey, I was just wondering if it was possible to have a kill-cam when you die. This would mean everytime you die, you could see the person that killed you in "first person" 10 secs before your death. I just thought this might help people improve their skill, notice habits that good players do, and it would also be fun to watch someone ninja you. I've ninjaed people b4 and got on their head and shit, but it would be funny as hell if they could watch it. I think if ttp had this feature, it would become even more popular. Maybe you need source tv, to do it? Or maybe it's a feature that developers would have had to done b4 game came out? I'm just saying that I can spec someone and see what they do, why can't I see what they did 10 secs ago b4 they killed me? Suggestions?
Thanks,
h.winn

Re: New, maybe impossible, idea?
What's the point?
When I die, I know who killed me, and I know how they killed me. You spec the player that killed you; you can put the pieces together.
I'd rather watch my team try to get into that site rather than watching how I failed. I'm pretty sure there is no source game with a kill-cam feature, apart from the screen-shot showing how someone fragged you in TF2 (Even then, its AFTER you died).
And before you say we could use the demo engine in source, that server would need a dynamic camera and Interpolation of that demo to you. That eats resources - CSS is not a graphically intensive game like COD4, so the Source engine might not have an add-on for it. And I have never been on any CSS (let alone Valve) server with a legitimate kill-cam. Correct me if I'm wrong.
It might be a cool idea, but coding issues would be a problem as well. I think the costs outweigh that one benefit.
Valve considered adding kill-cams, but as far as I know that never happened with Steam Cloud.

I like this idea as well. And for those who don't want to see it, give them the option to press the a button to bypass it (not the fire button, though, since you might be in the middle of busting some caps when you die, and bypassing it accidentally -- maybe the TAB button).
