Yeah, I looked at that thread, and where was the CSS'ers revenge?

Just take your pride and go about your business...nothing to see here.
Wow at least we have one person who isn't riddled with amnesia. That's a gracious way to put it... I recall the BF2 side only winning ONE round in CS:S land. There are less than a handful of people that play CS:S and BF2 (hobbes, quick, myself, trig, fly, maybe others) and I find it pretty hard to unlearn the assault tactics from BF2 when I come over to CS:S. BF2 folks steer clear because of asshats, but if they would join a SNF or a time when the server is mostly regs then they'd see that CS:S has just as much teamwork and critical coordination.

We played them in CSS as well. Obviously, you didn't read my entire post.

    Re: BF2 VS CSS

While I tend to get my ass kicked in CS:S, any type of attempt to challenge the BF2 community at their own game is suicide. There will never be a legit CS:S win over the BF2 regs on any map. Of course this applies Visa Versa, unless we are playing a CT or T sided map. Then there is a slight chance....

I think we proved in the last one that CS:S players don't magically go into other games and shoot everyone in the head and take home the cup in infantry only.

    Re: BF2 VS CSS

I played for the CS side of things in BF2 land due to a lack of volunteers (even borrowed a couple BF2ers to even up the numbers), and it was the fine art of grenade spam more than anything that won it for BF2. The teamwork on the CS side left a helluva lot to be desired. I've found better team work nearly every time with a bunch of randoms on the BF2 server.

CS in CS land is another matter entirely, however.

Yeah, yer prolly all right -- but It sounds like you just sorta threw them in there. A single squad, coached up, and than put in the middle of a bf2 reg team, in the right role, may do pretty well.

And yes, the mechanic thing does fuck with you. You go from running by default to walking by default.. they swap the knife/main weapon orders up. You can prone. The shooting is abit slower, and you can toggle in and out for better aim. The maps are huge, and the goal in the game is entirely different.

From what I've seen, playing ~2 1/2 years of BF2 mad oh 5-6 years of CS/CSS the skill curve is completely different and BF2er going into CSS thier first time would probably hate it.

So yeah. Guess I was just trying to pump the CSSers up. There haven't been many discussions here lately outside the game settings.

    Re: BF2 VS CSS

Haven't played in long while -- and never on TTP. Last Battle 10/10/2006, 9:23 am. Only 88 hours on vanilla.

I played a ton of AI/AIX with friends though. Several of us were on the over-night shift, and things slowed way down. In other words we had about 6 free hours a night, 4 nights a week to play. And we did. For like 2 years. We logged something like 2000 hours each on a local stats server setup on a minibox used for dedicated server (Lan). We modded the crap out of it too eventually- to keep it interesting. So there were weapons / vehicles from all different mods. Eventually I wrote an app in C# that would launch the server, but before it did it would randomize up which weapons it used for each kit, what version vehicles to use from different mods, etc... and than push a minipatch out to each client. So as an example one night we might have the M107 for snipers, and another the L-96 for snipers. (Randomized up all the kits for all the nations). Or the Cayuse instead of the Blizzard.. things like that. We also uniformed all the map configs so the rotation was something like 75 different maps.

I got payed about 50+ grand net from my work to play video games / watch movies most of the night for 3 years. Someone had to be there, and we were.. there was just nothing to do most of the time.. so they allowed it.

Game is obviously fun, but when you've played it that much you just.. well eventually sick of it. I am sure to pick it up again though.

Full server online is a whole different game though than 6-8 lanners. So I'd prolly get my taint spoon fed to me for awhile.

Oh and thanks for the emotional guilt trip you fucker
