    A Few Quick Tips

    · Look away from flashes, toward explosions. Whether you see a HE flying at you or you are running from the bomb, explosions do less damage when you are looking at them.

    · Be smart about flashes. I’m not going to complain here about teamflashes, I’m going to complain about pointless flashes. Only use a flash when you or your opponent is pushing, or for any other reasonable purpose (IE: a fake). For example, say you are at long A (as a CT) and you know a T is at double doors. DO NOT throw a flash and just sit there. I see this so many times, people flash and then do nothing. You just wasted 200$, way to accomplish absolutely nothing. DO through a flash if you are about to rush him, and do throw a flash if you hear him pushing you. I don’t know how many times I’ve been flashed and completely vulnerable, but the person who flashed me did not push, which only tells me where my opponent is hiding.

    · Eliminate the “Pray” out of Spray and pray. Take a half hour to start your own server and turn on impacts. Just shoot at a wall, and get used to the spray patterns with your favorite weapon. Do this at least 3 times for at least 30 minutes and you will get exponentially better.

    · Know which pistols you can spam and which you can’t. The deagle is completely useless when fired rapidly even at a close range. Not all pistols work the same.

Obvious advice I know, but I see these mistakes countless times while I’m playing, and for some reason they piss me off. Maybe more to come.

Impacts? What's the console code for this?

    Don't take unnecessary risks.

If the bomb is planted and you know where the last counter terrorists are at, toss a flashbang or two their way then hide and wait for them to come to you. That way, even if you die, you will hopefully buy enough time to ensure a victory for your team.

^ Another good one, make sure to change your position after the flash if you safely can, however.

I saw just so much stupid play yesterday that I just came here to pretty much tell people to not be stupid.

Great tips. I used to just shoot really fast with deagle. Now I'm starting to count out my bullets and use each seven with good aim.

    A Few Quick Tips

    Re: A Few Quick Tips

The P57 and compact are decent spam guns when up close. The P57 holds its accuracy very well I've found (although I have not done impact testing or anything). I love it though.

My advice is to learn how to use bottlenecks to your advantage as CT. I constantly see people blow this. Bottlenecks areas of the map where Ts have to come in almost single file, which mean that you are probably going to encounter a big group of Ts clumped together if they decide to rush you through it.

    1) Figure out where the bottlenecks are and how long it takes you vs. the Ts to get to them.
    2) Always be prepared to nade the bottlenecks. It's better to use a deagle or MP5 against a group of flashed Ts that are all in a big group than to try to pick them off one by one with an M4. More importantly, it's better for your teammates if they've got already-wounded, blind Ts to shoot at than fully healthy and dangerous Ts. If Ts are coming through a bottleneck then the more HE nades the merrier.
    3) Don't position yourself where you can't shoot Ts as they are in the bottleneck (and in nade hell). If you can flash, HE, and then shoot right down the throat of the bottleneck then you will probably get all kinds of great spray kills. I hate it when teammates position themselves so that they can't support me while I'm nading/shooting into the bottleneck, but instead only finally encounter the Ts when they are vastly outnumbered and the Ts are no longer flashed. It doesn't make any goddam sense, and they invariably get killed (unless I've already done all the work).

Remember that the longer your team has to respond to the Ts rush, the better your chances are.

    Inferno

On A side inferno, as CT, you can rush up and see if Ts are coming banana in plenty of time to massively nade it. With 1 flash you can spray Ts right as they turn the corner and do huge damage.

I would also like it if people who were covering a particular avenue of attack would make sure that they can see if the enemy takes that avenue of attack. Inferno is really bad for this... someone always needs to rush past mid, look and see if they see anyone, and then check out alt mid (or at least listen for it) to see where the T team is (or at least that there's no present danger there). It's a little dangerous, but that's what dodging is for. Good information is CRITICAL.

    Dust2
On dust2, B, Long A, Short A all benefit from flash prenades. Also, if Ts aren't smoking mid then it's great to have someone watching short from mid... it means that anyone going short gets naded to hell even if they delay it a bit.

    Cbble
B, mid, long A all benefit from nades, although only B benefits from a flash prenade. Tossing a bunch of nades down mid right as the Ts try to rush it will really hurt them though. I hate it when people cover mid with no nades. I also hate people who get there while Ts are still just coming through mid and stay in connector to cower and try to get picks. If Ts haven't become situated around connector yet then it might be your only chance to mess up their takeover of A site... once they get A, you're not getting through connector (unless they suck in which case rushing out works as well as hiding) and will likely be flashed/naded/sprayed for the next 35 seconds.

As T, smokes and flashes are good.

    Piranesi:
As CT, people take way too long to rush in and support A site once bomb is obviously going there. I constantly see that, after bomb is spotted or planted A, half the CT team is wandering around mid somewhere like they're trying to stealth assassinate the T team, who is obviously in A site because that's where the bomb's going or was just planted. Yes, eventually the T team will come inside and they might get an easy kill or two, but when CTs don't immediately either push mid to the window, roof with the intention of securing it (and T sniper window), through sneaky, or through CT arch, then they're giving the round to the Ts (unless it's just a couple Ts left and they know where they are).

Also, CTs always need to be ready to take roof whether it's before or after the plant. You might not get it at the start of the round but if bomb is planted A site you'd better have a plan for getting it or else they're going to pick off your bomb defuser! And once you get the roof, continue on to get sniper window on T side.

you are correct, BUT you have to type in cl_allowcheats 1 for it to be affective.. but be sure that you have it turned off before you try to join another server. no server has their cheat level set to 1 to allow that and you wont be able to join the server.
