Intro Music
So I've been researching this, I searched the forums and all I saw was something about a disable mp3 command, and on the web the cl_downloadfilter "nosounds" and cl_allowdownload command, I've tried both of those neither work the sounds still try to download, which is quite annoying. Also I can't find anything about the disable mp3 command.
The sv_pure settings say that the directory sound\lonestar\... is set to allow_from_disk
From what I read on the valve developer community that should mean that I can choose to not run them?
In any case I don't want to listen to the music on entry how is this possible?

Re: Intro Music
As far as I know, the sounds you hear when you first join are actually from a website (the motd page) and so the sounds are not locally stored on your computer, so you cannot stop them from loading/playing.
The volume you get for the music is controlled by your windows sounds settings, so if you play with a low in-game volume and a full windows volume, the music will be very loud in comparison. I would recommend using full in-game volume so the music won't be so loud comparatively (because you speakers/ headphones will be turned down more to compensate for louder the in-game setting). We can do better.
