problems with cs
I'm having problems running cs. My lag in the game will be in the 30's and 40's but my game still lags up. My first thought was that it might be the new update, but now i don't what could cause it. Any ideas what it could be? Also include a solution i can do to fix it.

RE: problems with cs
welcome to the hell I've been having for the last 6 months.
can't explain it.......my hardware test fps averages like 60, and on dust2 and other maps....looking at certain places, or having a few barrels or characters on screen makes me shoot into the 20s.
let's see how hard you guys are a 20fps.......cuz it's going to affect you in a bad way.
20 fps = 50 ms
100fps = 10 ms
you vs someone with 100 fps means you are 40ms behind their attack. Human reaction time is what.....120, 130ms? Guess who dies?

RE: problems with cs
I am getting problems still even after I did fresh reformat of my pc when i got a nasty trojan virus over 2 weeks ago. We have experiencng lag on BF2 last couples nights where people's games are freezingfor like 10 seconds and then catch up.

RE: problems with cs
When things start slowing down that bad you just gotta whipe and reformat. I just built a brand new mechine myself and whiped my old one and re-installed. I was amazed at how much better it ran. I was back from getting 150ish to 250 or so on some maps. Course thats on my old mechine so its not like I realy play much on it.
If you have a spare hard drive I would just back everything up and reformat, it sucks but alot of the time its the only way to fix it.
Digital, BF2 is unfortunatly a resource hog so little things can cause that, if a reformat didn't fix it and you wernt doing anything wierd before you booted up the game or leaving it on for long periods of time its probably either your video card dying or a memory leak. What card do you have? Ever OC'ed either part?
