Re: I have a dream.
I broadcast gaming videos on Twitch TV and my finished videos are on YouTube! Recently I shoutcasted the Counter Strike Tournament at PAX Prime 2012!

Re: I have a dream.
My hard drive loads the next map pretty quick so I am usually one of the first 4 people in the game. Lately I've been hitting 1 and going with the pistol round rush on T every time but if CT is getting whipped and you see me on a stacked T side feel free to red rover red rover Toad come over.
I actually had one of my dreams come true and saw "Jesus take the wheel" join T the other day. I had to hit tab twice to make sure I didn't hallucinate it. Sure we were up like 7-0 on dust2 when he joined but hey it's progress!
Also, I highly support admins switching people from a hugely stacked side to the hugely losing side when they are still alive after the round is over, so that they can start murdering their old teammates and get a little pre-emptive strike going!Last edited by Toad; 06-02-10 at 10:36 PM.

Re: I have a dream.
I notice a lot of the same things.
I try to join the side getting owned, but the problem is that I'm terrible, so I really don't bring a whole lot to the losing team. It's crazy how often I've been part of a team switch where my old team (that was getting owned) starts winning and my new team (that was rocking) starts losing. Not a confidence builder. I keep joining the losing side, but I feel bad cause I'm taking up a slot on that team from a player who could really make a difference.
It is frustrating to see players who know they can single-handedly turn the tide join the stacked side, or not switch over to the losing side when it gets to be 8-0 or something crazy.
And the RTVing nonsense is definitely frustrating. I know I load up maps against bots on new maps or maps I don't know that well so the next time they come up in rotation I actually know the map. I do wish people would take a little time to learn maps so they don't RTV off of maps we don't get to play that often.

Re: I have a dream.
i've always sorta thought you should consider switching only after about the 7th-10th rounds when the win/loss ratio is greater than something like 50% for a few reasons:
1. if you lose the 1st round (especially as obj. side), you're probably going to lose the next few rounds. it's just the way tpg's game is set up. the $ doesn’t balance out until the 4th-5th rounds... and that's assuming the team that lost is average at managing $. if they're expert, it's as early as the 3rd-4th. if awful, maybe never.
you need to give the early game monetary imbalances enough time to sort out before jumping ship. mistaking a team that's out-skilled for one that's temporarily under-equipped is a mistake that many people make .
2. you won and you deserve to win! yes it's true, if you win a few rounds it's not an evil thing, you're entitled to it.
3. this especially goes for obj. side players switching to non-obj. if it's only 4-0 or even 5-0, don't switch yet! especially if you're the kind of guy that's good enough to pwn on camp and kill side. wait a bit for someone else to switch or for the other team to get more players.
far too often i've seen good players on t side inferno (for ex.) switch to ct after just the 3rd or 4th round to help ct's out, only to have the t's drop the next 15 in a row. BE VERY CAREFUL if you switch away from the “harder” side. you may be doing more harm than good.
4. if you wait longer than the 7-10th rounds, you’ve probably waited too long. yea you may help, but the damage has been done. People are pissed, no doubt some have left, and depending on the map and the players, may stand no real chance of winning.
knowing when to switch is often the best solution to a stacked situation imo. this way the switching player gets to enjoy his wins, ensure he’s not switching for the wrong reasons/wrong time and joins the challenged team in time to make a difference.
just my 2 cents.

Re: I have a dream.
Well here is one example of stacked teams... It started out on Inferno, T's were decently stacked as far as skill, and they won like the first 6 or 7 rounds--CT's had only one a single round. I was moved over to the CT side to balance the map, and we proceeded to win 14 rounds, and the T's only winning like 2 more rounds. We destroyed them until it was no longer fun for any of the T's. So I guess I don't understand how stacking the CT side made the teams balanced, hell it wasn't like I was ripping it up... most of my kills from the screnshots below came from being on the T side...
