I agree completely Toker, because then it's still not just the variable of the map's sides that make it easy or hard. We are once again throwing skill into the equation, which can have an ENORMOUS impact on the overall outcome. Of course T side Aztec is much harder than CT. I was bringing this up in regards to how people join a map as was stated in the original post. I guess what I'm getting at is don't just think "I'm joining the server and the map is Aztec, T side needs me because it's the hard side." Good players may have already compensated for T side being more difficult, and realistically, however unlikely, the CT side may need help. Join a team based on need/players, not on assumed preconceptions of easy and hard.

Re: A Friendly Call Out
I typically just choose which team to join based on the number of players per team. If T has 9 and CT has 10, I will typically join T. However, I also try to make it a point to join the team that I see is getting stomped. I sometimes forget to look at the scores, though, as joining to make the teams even (in terms of the number of players per team) is my norm.
I don't know if this is a bad practice but I haven't heard anything negative from the TPG regulars concerning my ratio of playing on the "hard side" verses the "easy side." So, I just assume that this system works.

Re: A Friendly Call Out
here's my system:
join t. figure the rest out later.
lol. j/k. mostly i join t but i often use the time in between maps to slide hitch's mom off my lap, get a drink, grab my girls ass to keeps her happy, and hit the john. so when i do join i can usually tell which side needs some help.
but let's face it, this isn't a science. i've seen teams i thought would easily win, lose, and have joined teams i thought needed help only to realize they don't. mostly the people that join early pick a side they want to be on, the people that join late have to concentrate more on trying to keep it even. but as i've posted before, just because a team is 0-3 in the beginning of a map, doesn't mean they're getting their ass kicked. it may just be the money hasn't evened out from their first round loss... or the bomb was afk a round or who knows.
i put heavy weight on the map and the players before picking a side late. inferno, i'll probably pick t no matter what and sort the rest out later (unless ct's are both losing badly and are down in numbers).
if it's d2, then i mostly choose based on teams or who is down a man (although i much prefer t on d2).Last edited by (2)manno; 06-14-10 at 12:40 PM.

Re: A Friendly Call Out
Most maps there isn't really an "easy side" because it all just depends on the team. That's why I always do auto select because its always a different difficulty (I use to pick CT most of the time though until Raush pointed out that I stacked the CT side when they were winning, lol). And when I'm on the easy side getting a good score there just ain't too much sense of accomplishment lol. I will admit though inferno is one of my most hated maps because CT is easier almost all of the time unless vafa or someone has his crazy T calls. It's wayyy too easy to start slow playing on that map.

Re: A Friendly Call Out
I'm usually one of the first few to connect, and in the evening timeslots it seems like a lot of time Ts have their work cut out for them to get good coordination and call execution going, so I join T to get it fired up early. I do not mean to disparage CT as always the easy side as obviously there are times when it needs help and generally later on at night when the big boys are on I wind up on CT and lose because T is very coordinated and skilled.

Re: A Friendly Call Out
I have a 55 to 45 percentage favoring CT side. Now I'm not making excuses, but I do AA a lot. Or, I join the server and see Vaf, Xtreme, Manno, etc. on T side rocking, and join CT side. Also, I do favor the M4 over the Ak typically. It varies though. But 7 out of 10 times, I favor the M4.
