    Well...

I just did it. I bought Counter Strike: Source, and am downloading it now.

Anybody want to help me learn the ropes a little tonight? I promise to try not to do anything to stupid.

Lol try as you might, you prolly still will. Best bet is first play a couple local games (IE create game, play with some bots) Get yourself use to buying, planting, diffusing, throwing shit. (should only take maybe 15-20 minutes). If you want I can make a private server and help you abit more directly. Shit we're both in the springs so it will be like playing on a lan.

If you're just starting out I'd recommend you stick to CT to start with. Both sides have the MP5 ($1500 SMG, accurate at close range even while holding down the trigger) but the CTs M4 (more powerful than the MP5) is much more accurate when holding down the trigger than the AK47. AK47 does best with 1-2 shot bursts and very little spraying (unless you are very close or used to the recoil).

If you love the run and gun in other games then I would recommend the TMP as the CT gun that will let you get used to the physics of the new game while spraying insanely like you are used to. TMP is another CT-only gun.

If you want to be accurate at all at long range you should be standing completely still and don't pull the trigger too often.

I like precision fire. Being a sniper in the battlfield games, i like it when my bullets go where i point them to.

Basically, i'll pick accuracy over any other stat on a gun.

Shit everyone does now and again. I just want to get him down the basics than throw him to the wolves on TPG. (No worries lots of regs are willing to help, but I want to avoid the 'teaching you how to plant the bomb in a firefight' scenerio. God how many times have I seen that this week? lol)
